About The Golden Geese – professional acoustic duo based in London

The Golden Geese are a highly accomplished and professional musical duo who make any party or event an occasion to remember.

More than just a covers band, The Golden Geese's energetic and infectious act reworks your favourite tunes from across the last century in a quirky style that keeps guests guessing and everyone entertained.

We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at The Fox & Grapes in Wimbledon and Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Camberley, UK.

We specialise in performing at weddings, private parties, charity balls and corporate events.

As an acoustic duo, we are able to roam around your guests which can add another dimension to our performance – roaming is particularly suitable for wedding breakfasts and outdoor events.

With more than 10 years experience playing all over the UK and the world, our unique style of playing classic songs is guaranteed to intrigue and delight any audience.

Their repertoire covers everything from Gershwin to Oasis, Bob Dylan to Beyoncé and Elvis to S Club. It's upbeat, happy, dancing music in a skiffle, rockabilly, jazz style.

Endlessly versatile, they are as happy on the Main Stage through the biggest PA as they are roaming acoustic.

Whether welcoming guests in or closing the party in the wee small hours, they are experts at judging their audience.

Each gig has a unique setlist calibrated to the mood of the crowd and the intent of the client. A "No Fuss" service with a smile is our trademark!

Previous clients include Adidas, Arriva Trains, The OXO Tower Restaurant, Metro Radio, T Mobile, Leon Restaurants, Newcastle United Football Club, Atkins Architects, Acton Borough Market, Dot Festival 08 and Bahrain Formula 1.

FAQs

HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?

We will travel anywhere and everywhere. Inquiries for space travel are encouraged. Past adventures have seen us fly to glamorous locations in the Middle East and Ireland. Trains are our favoured (and ecologically sound) mode of transport, but of course, cars come in handy too.

HOW LONG DO YOU PLAY FOR?

For a standard booking we usually play two sets of 45 minutes (or 3 x 30 minutes), we can play for longer or shorter periods depending on your requirements.

CAN I REQUEST SONGS?

You can request any song you like, just give us a couple of weeks notice. Please bear in mind, however, that we would hate to murder your favourite song so if it doesn't sound great we won't play it. Also, if it's a song we hate we're probably not going to play it either. Feel free to ask though.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS? WOULD YOU LIKE A DRINK?

As long as its delicious we will eat it, although we do love steak. Champagne is our drink of choice, we are The Golden Geese after all.

DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PA?

We have a very compact PA system that we can bring for gigs of up to 30 people. We are happy to liaise with hire companies in your area and help arrange local PA hire for your event. This ensures that the PA is set up and ready prior to the start of the event and can be used for speeches or music after we have left.

WHAT ARE YOUR POWER REQUIREMENTS?

This depends on amplification: acoustic, we need no power, with the small PA, two plug sockets. Obviously the bigger the PA the more plugs.

WHAT WILL YOU WEAR?

We have a variety of stage apparel but suited & booted is our default setting. Our Mark III Purple Velvet suits have just arrived and are looking awesome! Generally, we are very flexible so if you want us to match your colour scheme just ask.

DO YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE?

We are covered up to £10,000,000 and can provide a certificate if required.

CAN YOU DJ?

Yes! We are both very experienced DJs and can spin many fantastic tunes to keep the party jumping after our live sets.

IS IT A REAL MOUSTACHE? HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GROW?

It is a real, bona fide, award-winning 'tache! Officially the 2nd best in the UK. Robbie has been growing it for 17 years.

IS IT A 'CELLO? IS IT HEAVY?

It is a double bass. It is heavy, but Brendan is exceedingly strong. It fits in most cars and regularly travels by train, tube and bus.
