Basin Street Swingers vast repertoire spans traditional jazz from the 1920s through to swing and jump jive, with blues woven into the mix.
Every line-up is trumpet-led, with vocals available as an option, and the band is happy to learn song requests from clients, including first dances, to make each performance feel personal.
The band offers flexible line-ups ranging from an acoustic trio to a full six-piece band, available in both acoustic and amplified configurations.
A background trio can be booked to create atmosphere during a drinks reception or ceremony, scaling up to the full band for the evening entertainment.
This adaptability allows Basin Street Swingers to tailor its performance to suit the tone and scale of any occasion.
Performances are typically structured as either two 60-minute sets or three 40-minute sets, with short breaks between, though the band is flexible and happy to adjust timings to suit the flow of an event.
A laptop playlist and DJ service can be provided between and after the live sets, ensuring seamless entertainment from start to finish.
Basin Street Swingers performs with a professional PA system and lighting equipment, all fully PAT-certified and covered by comprehensive public and performance liability insurance.
The band arrives at least 90 minutes before the start time to set up and sound check, with setup taking between 5 and 30 minutes depending on the line-up.
A minimum performance area of 3m x 3m is required.
Outdoor performances and unusual settings such as barns and beaches are all comfortably accommodated.
