About Bologna Swing Band – professional gypsy jazz & swing band based in Bologna, Italy
Bologna Swing Band was founded in 2010 in Bologna by four musicians with diverse artistic backgrounds who discovered a shared interest and passion for Gypsy Jazz music, commonly known as manouche.
They quickly began performing at various events, festivals, and weddings around Italy, quickly becoming one of the most sought after Gypsy Jazz & Swing bands in the country.
We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Villa Rosa in Montepulciano and Abbazia San Pietro in Valle in Umbria, Italy.

The quartet resumes, investigates, and presents a repertoire authentic to the Manouche culture, always referencing Django Reinhardt, widely regarded as the finest exponent of gipsy music.
Fascinated by the stories of the many musicians who crossed Europe in the last century, the four musicians enrich their concert with original songs, themes from the Standard Jazz repertoire, and arrangements of music from different traditions reinterpreted in the Gypsy Jazz style.

They knew how to accompany dinner well, without any flaws or imperfections, adapting to the unexpected (bad weather) and last second requests that saw them in procession (including double bass) accompanying the bride and groom, after a warm-up improvisation, to the nearby court from the cake cutting room. They received compliments from all the guests, friends, parents and older people, for their skill, elegance, stage presence and sobriety.
