About City Ceilidh – professional Ceilidh band based in London
We play for weddings, birthdays, festivals and corporate celebrations all over the UK and beyond.
Although a London-based ceilidh band, we’re happy to travel.
Our standard lineup is fiddles, accordion and keys or guitar.
We make a fun, high-octane sound based around driving dance melodies, punctuated by imaginative rhythms; guaranteed to get you (and your guests) up on your feet dancing.
We started in 2015, led by caller and fiddle player Martin.
Since then we’ve played at weddings and parties across the country, and some of the UK’s top folk festivals.
Our repertoire is drawn from across the UK and Ireland, but has a distinctive Northumbrian and Scottish borders flavour, as we’ve drawn heavy influence from our favourite dance bands from that area.
