The band is made from musicians who have toured with signed artists like Beyonce, Rhianna, Beverley Knight, Take That, Michael Buble, RizzleKicks, Olly Murs and many more!

Lead singer Gavin was a feature on ITV's 2007 X-Factor show, and gained notoriety as the shock eviction of the round, even appearing on Lorraine Kelly breakfast show!!

We are one of the premier wedding bands and corporate event bands in Manchester.

The Ivys Band offer many different forms of acts to truly be able to offer a bespoke service for any wedding or event.

Depending on your budget, size of venue, type of venue or any sound level requirements or preferences you have, we can cater for anything, and can truly tailor our offering to your requirements.

The Ivys acoustic band

We are now offering the chance to book the 5 piece band as an acoustic act! This is absolutely perfect for venues where space is limited or where there are noise restrictions.

You get the style, passion and musical ability of the band. However, due to us swapping percussion for a drum kit, and an acoustic guitar, the noise levels are much more pleasing to the ear if required for that particular event or venue.

Furthermore, this line up can also fit into event themes such as Retro or Vintage because of the style of performance.

The band also plays the same songs as the main line up but the different instrumentation conveys a style change which is no less powerful, but a different interpretation on all the classic songs that the band perform usually.

The Ivys Acoustic Duo

John and Gavin have been performing for 5 years as a stand alone acoustic duo, performing hits old and new in their inimitable laid back style. They perform regularly at venues such as Knutsford Wine Bar, The Bubble Room and even a residency at The Intu Trafford Centre.

They can be booked either as a daytime act for background music or as a main act in the evening for smaller gatherings (which works perfectly). Gavin can also offer his DJing service for the latter to provide a full evening's entertainment.

FAQs

How many musicians are in the band normally and can you add more?

The Ivys band can be booked in any form from our main line up act as a 5 piece band, up to 8 piece with a horn section, to our background acoustic duo. We do also offer a 4 piece line up to suit a slightly tighter budget.

Would we need to hire equipment and lighting for The Ivys band?

We are fully self-contained and have our own PA and stage lighting equipment.

What is Public Liability Insurance and PAT testing, and do you have it?

We can provide PAT Testing and Public Liability certificates on request, they are standard documentation that most established venues require from bands now.

We require some music when the band aren't performing?

Gavin offers a professional DJing service as an additional option if required, more than just an iPod or laptop playlist plug in that some bands now offer. He is more than happy to take requests before or on the evening from you or your guests!

We've seen you have performed with a female singer, can we book her as well?

The band has the option to even add a top female vocalist if required, for that extra something special.

Do you take requests or even learn a song for us?

We are extremely happy for you to pick songs from our repertoire for the evening, and if you have a special song, for example for your first dance, as long as we can perform it with the instrumentation we have, we are happy to learn it for you at no extra charge. If you are happy to leave the choice of music up to us, we choose the songs on the evening based on the demographics and reaction of the audience on the night. We don't believe in writing a set list out, as we believe that the crowd picks the set by their reaction.

What will The Ivys Band wear?

We can wear suits or less formal clothes, it is entirely up to you!

How much space do you require?

In an ideal world, 3m by 5m for the 5 piece band, but we have squeezed into much smaller spaces! We do not require a stage but if you would like to book one for us through the venue, that would be great (but not essential at all). Set up takes about 30-40 minutes.

We are holding a Corporate Event, what sort of companies have you performed for?

We have performed for the biggest companies in the UK, including Range Rover, Glaxo Smith Kline, John Lewis, Shell, Sony, HP, Samsung, Apple, BT, Manchester United FC and Astra Zeneca.
