About Digue Swing – professional Swing & Jazz band based in La Rochelle, France
Digue Swing is a flexible jazz band based on the French Atlantic coast, performing from an intimate duo format all the way up to a full six-piece lineup.
The band brings together experienced professional musicians who share a passion for the great jazz standards, blending timeless American songbook classics with Latin jazz favourites to create a warm, swinging atmosphere for weddings and events.
One of the things that sets Digue Swing apart is the choice of vocals. Clients can opt for the rich baritone voice of the band's double bass player or the melodious singing of the drummer and percussionist, giving each performance a distinct character depending on the mood and setting.
The core instrumentation features guitar, double bass, trumpet, saxophone and drums, and the lineup is tailored to suit the occasion, whether that calls for a relaxed duo for a drinks reception or a full sextet to fill the dance floor.
The band's repertoire draws on a wide range of jazz standards alongside Latin jazz classics, and the musicians are happy to learn song requests including first dances.
Sets typically run for 45 minutes to an hour, usually performed as two sets across the evening, and Digue Swing can provide a laptop playlist and DJ service between and after the live sets to keep the music going seamlessly throughout the event.
Digue Swing arrives two to three hours before the performance and requires one to two hours for setup and sound check, with a minimum performance area of approximately 4 by 5 metres depending on the chosen lineup.
