About Throwing Shapes – professional DJ & Sax Duo based in London, UK
Throwing Shapes is an exceptional DJ & Sax duo based in London, available for hire for public and private events across the country.
This incredible DJ Live act is perfect for corporate and private events alike, with their adaptable sets lending them perfectly to smaller and larger gigs.
With music being a community experience, Throwing Shapes work closely with their clients to tailor playlists that are event specific, ensuring the atmosphere is perfect for everyone involved, all the time.
We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Kew Gardens in Richmond, Walthamstow Wetlands in London and Ravens Ait Island in Surbiton, UK.
Having played events that have ranged from Mayfair Clubs such as Park Chinois to Stadiums such as the Etihad in Manchester; the duo decided in 2021 it was time to collaborate and form a tight, fun, yet funky project that could bring their sounds to weddings, clubs and private events across the UK and Europe.
All equipment from their top quality Bose PA system and microphones to public liability insurance is provided within any quoted price. All that is required is 2 mains outlets!
Requests are very much welcome, and their set lists are tailored to each individual client's preferences (unlike other acts that may use generic playlists). The pair do this to make sure the music is perfect for every event they play!
Throwing Shapes have a customisable line-up that can include extra musicians on request. They’re also available as two separate acts: solo sax with backing tracks or solo DJ.

"Throwing Shapes were absolutely fantastic from the initial conversation through to the wedding day. They went above and beyond to cater for our needs and far exceeded our expectations!"
"From confirming the booking to making our wedding day an amazing party Throwing Shapes were fantastic. Professional and easy to communicate with they took all our wants and song list and made the day and night for us and our guests. They blended seamlessly into the venue, looking great and working with the venue staff to make our special day. The venue manager also told us how great they were. The first dance was made extra special with the sax and we couldn't be happier. I would recommend to anyone planning their special day."
"We booked Throwing Shapes for our wedding at the Barbican Conservatory, they were responsive leading up to the event and always got back to us quickly, they liaised with our venue coordinator with minimal input required from us regarding the logistics on the day which was very convenient. On the day itself they were fantastic entertainment, there were always people on the dancefloor and the team brought great energy to the evening, Alex the saxophonist getting involved with our guests on the dance floor was a highlight. Loads of our friends and family commented the range of music was perfect and they were also super flexible about our first dance song and other music requests. Highly recommend!"
"Throwing Shapes were a lot of fun and it was great to have them play at our wedding. Having the saxophone join in with our first dance was amazing and I think a lot of people appreciated the 15mins of DnB!"
"Throwing Shapes were really amazing. They were easily contacted and very helpful with all of our questions! Our guests loved the music and having the saxophone too was excellent! I would definitely recommend these two and would book them again!"
