"We had an absolute ball thanks to Matthew and the rest of the band. We requested a mix of ceilidh dances and folk/party songs and they certainly delivered. The dance calling was perfect for the people who had never been to a ceilidh before and Dougie's cover songs got everybody dancing and singing along. We also threw a last minute request at them when someone gifted us a fiddle tune but couldn't make it to the wedding to play it for us. Given the short notice, we didn't think it would be possible but they surprised us when the whole band played it which made the night really special. Thank you so much coming and playing for us! We couldn't have had a better night!"

"Matthew and Julia from The Edinburgh Ceilidh Band came to play my 30th birthday in Glasgow at the weekend. They were absolutely fantastic. The setup was easy, communication before the event was good, music and dances were excellent. We had a couple of dances that I hadn't seen before which is always good to keep things fresh! We sent them a playlist the day before so we had music for the breaks which they played through their sound system. The had their own sound systen and lights which really added to the atmosphere as well. All in all very happy with the event and would definitely recommend Matthew and the band to anyone who's looking to arrange a ceilidh. Cheers!"

They played all the ceilidh classics including a few that were new to us, and the calling was great so everyone knew what to do, or what they were supposed to do at least. They followed up with a short DJ set and the obligatory Loch Lomond to finish. The dance floor was full all night long!"

They called the dances and remained in great spirits when some dancers proved faster learners than others. The band provided their own equipment which sounded fantastic, they were punctual and were great at communicating with me upfront. All in all I can highly recommend these guys. One hour might sound like a lot when you have never danced it before, but it was such a great fun and that hour went by so fast. Matthew used a lot of humour and the whole party really enjoyed taking part in it. Highly recommended!"
