The Glasgow Ceilidh Band are a truly electric four-piece ceilidh band with fiddle, bass, electric guitar and drums (electric too), adding an exciting, modern twist to traditional Ceilidh music.
You will always have fun at a ceilidh, whether you are a learner, a regular ceilidh dancer, or you’re watching from the sidelines laughing at the capers of the participants.

Ceilidhs are very social affairs even if you or your partner has two left feet!
We're regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Melville Castle Hotel in Edinburgh, Manderston House in Berwickshire and House for an Art Lover in Glasgow, Scotland.
Our repertoire is as long as Nessie’s tale and don’t worry if you don’t know the dances as we will guide you with full instructions for each one.

Our dances are quite easy and you’ll have so much fun, even wee old Auntie Maureen, or grumpy Sam from finance, might be persuaded to get up and have a go (in fact they might even dance together!).
We bring the house down in all venues – from castles to canvases, from hotels to huts – in fact any event or place that wants to enjoy an evening of merriment with exciting music.
A DJ is always included to play your favourite song for the first dance and later in the evening if required.
We like to put the ‘ding’ in ‘wedding’, and the ‘corr!’ in corporate’, so give us a call to make sure your evening will genuinely rock! (NB: Our music is much better than our puns!)

"The Glasgow Ceilidh Band played at my wedding recently. Simon and the band were incredible and I couldn't recommend them strongly enough. In the run-up to the wedding, the band were very responsive and helpful in dealing with our queries and concerns. On the day itself, the ceilidh part was done very well: the dances were called very well, and the rock-style ceilidh music was really fun. A really refreshing fusion of traditional and modern. The disco part post-ceilidh was also very good: we had liaised with the band beforehand and given them a Spotify list of song suggestions, and they did a great job of mixing and choosing. This included a number of Bollywood songs for the Indian side of the wedding. People were on the dance floor all night!"
"The Glasgow Ceilidh Band were fantastic! They arrived/set up etc exactly when they said they would. Their music playing was so good - very lively and enjoyable and sound level perfect and their rock versions of traditional tunes went down a storm. They explained the dances well to a mixed group of party goers. The only thing I regret is we didn't get enough time with them. I had arranged for a disco after the buffet (which they supplied as well)... next time I'll have them play all night. Organisation (via Fix the Music) was simple and queries were always responded to quickly."

We had a mixed bag of Scottish, English and Japanese guests, many who had never even heard of a ceilidh before, but they all got stuck right in thanks to the great music and Simon’s patience and instruction as the ceilidh caller. "The Glasgow Ceilidh Band were fantastic and I can not recommend them enough. We hired the full band for the evening of our wedding and they provided live music for the Ceilidh and the DJ afterwards. The majority of guests had never done a Ceilidh before and the caller was patient and excellent at explaining the steps. Their cross between light rock and traditional music was exactly what we wanted to make a memorable evening (which all our guests were talking about after the event). As well as being fantastic on the night they have also been great at quickly replying to emails and being prompt at providing required information; taking away stress from what is typically a stressful time.
