Kymaton is a versatile percussion and flute act based on the island of Syros in Greece's Cyclades, offering two distinct performance formats that can be booked individually or combined for a full evening of live music.
The duo configuration brings together live percussion and flute to create a refined lounge and Latin soundscape.
Kymaton hand-picks favourite pieces from the lounge and Latin repertoire and reimagines them with warm flute melodies layered over hand percussion, building a sophisticated musical backdrop that enhances the atmosphere without demanding the spotlight.
This format is ideally suited to guest welcoming, seaside dinner settings, sunset sessions, relaxed cocktail gatherings and conferences, where the intention is to provide a smooth, ambient musical atmosphere that complements the occasion rather than overpowering it.
The solo percussion performance draws on the rich rhythmic traditions of West Africa and Cuba, weaving them into chill-out, lounge and house music.
Kymaton collaborates with DJs to elevate events, private parties, sunset spots and weddings, bringing a new level of energy with virtuosic hand-drumming that sits seamlessly alongside electronic beats.
Kymaton can be booked as the flute and percussion duo, as a solo percussionist with DJ, or as a combined package featuring both formats across the event.
Sets typically run for two hours, and Kymaton provides a laptop playlist and DJ service between and after the live sets to keep the music flowing throughout.
The performer arrives one to one and a half hours before the event and requires approximately one hour for setup and sound check, needing just 2 to 3 square metres of performance space.
Kymaton is comfortable performing outdoors and in unusual settings such as beaches and barns, and is happy to learn song requests including first dances.
