Originally from Angola, he began his musical journey in Évora and graduated from the Lisbon Superior School of Music in 1992.
Further refining his artistry, he studied with acclaimed violinist Gerardo Ribeiro in Chicago.
Known for his talent in improvisation, he bridges many styles, adding depth to African music, fado and electronic genres.
His skill has led to collaborations with internationally renowned artists across world tours and recordings.
Recently, he has been focusing on creating works that celebrate Cape Verdean music, drawing inspiration from the islands’ vibrant culture and landscapes.
In 2019, he completed a master’s in violin music teaching at the University of Évora, bringing his career full circle as both a performer and educator.
