FAQs

What does our ukulele band require? If you require the band to play outside we’ll need adequate cover from the elements. As they’ll be bringing electrical equipment (unless you want them ‘roving’ and acoustic), access to a power supply is also essential.
Are the musicians in the video the ones who will play at my event? As you’ll see from our various videos and photos, the line up for The London Ukulele Band does change and vary from time to time. This is so that we have ‘strength in depth’ and can therefore be sure to fulfill your booking regardless of whether one of the team is taken ill or unavailable.
How long do you play for?We usually play for 2 x 60-minute sets. We are flexible and can quote for more and less performing.
Do you play recorded music during your breaks?Yes, we play music from an MP3 player. If you prefer you can provide your own music, but please inform us in advance so we can prepare for any potential technical issues.
Can The London Ukulele Band play at our wedding ceremony/drinks reception/dinner as well as providing music for the evening?Yes, this is something we do regularly. You may prefer to have a smaller option earlier in the day (e.g. a soloist or duo) and have the rest of the band perform in the evening.
How much space do you need?Probably less than you think, approximately 5m x 4m for the full 4-piece band. We are adept at fitting into unusual spaces! A stage isn’t necessary (although it’s a bonus if you do have one). We can also play outside – see above.
How long do you take to set up?Depending on the technical requirements it usually takes us about 40 minutes to set up, and we aim to arrive an hour before the performance. If you would like us to arrive earlier to set up this is usually possible but may involve a small extra ‘waiting fee’.
How far do you travel? We play anywhere and everywhere! We are often to be found within 2 hours drive of London, although we regularly play further away as well, for which we may require provision for accommodation and travel expenses. Get in touch and let’s see what we can do!
Have The London Ukulele Band ever had to cancel? No. If one of the band is taken ill, we have plenty of backup musicians and singers available.
