FAQs

What are your normal set lengths?

- My usual performance lengths range from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the event and package booked. I offer flexible sets, including 30–60 minute live saxophone performances, 2–3 hour DJ and live saxophone packages, and multiple shorter sets throughout the event. Longer performances and customised schedules are available upon request.

Do you have different line-up options?

- Yes, as mentioned in the description.

Do you provide your own sound & lighting equipment? What is it or what's included in the price?

- Yes, I can provide my own professional sound system and lighting equipment, depending on the event size, venue and package booked. I can also adapt to venues with existing sound and lighting facilities, coordinating with the venue or event team to ensure a smooth and professional setup.

Do you provide a laptop playlist / DJ service in between and after your live sets?

- Yes. I can provide background music and a full DJ service between and after my live saxophone sets. This ensures a seamless musical experience throughout the event, from elegant background music and cocktail receptions to lively party sets and a packed dancefloor. Music can be tailored to the client’s preferences and the atmosphere of the event.

What time do you normally arrive at the venue to set up?

- I normally arrive 60–90 minutes before the performance starts to allow enough time for unloading, setting up and soundchecking. For larger setups or events requiring additional equipment, I arrange an earlier arrival time in advance with the client or wedding planner.

How long does it take for you to set up, sound check etc?

- My usual setup and soundcheck take approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on the equipment required and the venue. For larger setups involving additional musicians, sound systems or lighting, I allow extra time to ensure everything is ready before the performance begins.

Can you learn song requests (e.g. a first dance)?

- Yes, absolutely! I’m happy to learn special song requests, including first dances, ceremony songs and other meaningful moments. Requests should be discussed well in advance to allow enough time for preparation and rehearsal. I always aim to make these moments personal, emotional and unforgettable.

How much space do you need for your performance area?

- For a solo saxophone performance, I only need a small area of approximately 2m x 2m. For a DJ and live saxophone setup, I usually require around 3m x 2m, depending on the equipment. Larger line-ups may require additional space. I can adapt to different venues and layouts, coordinating with the event organiser to ensure the best setup.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT-tested equipment?

- Yes, I have Public Liability Insurance.

Are you comfortable performing outdoors or in unusual settings (e.g. barns, beaches)?

- Yes, absolutely! I’m comfortable performing outdoors and in a variety of unique settings, including beaches, gardens, barns and sunset venues.
