The band features a variety of top-quality musicians playing fiddle, accordion, piano, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki and whistle and we place great importance on the role of our caller.

Every lineup features this important individual who helps instruct with the dances and entertains the dancers with some good crack!

We also perform contemporary and roots acoustic songs upon request while the audience takes a well earned breather from the dancing!

Depending on your requirements The Scottish Ceilidh Band provide a three or four piece lineup for ceilidh dancing and also for drinks receptions, parties and dinner events where ambient backing music is required.

Our clients include BBC Children in Need, Athens St Andrews Society, The Glenmorangie Company, The British Interplanetary Society, Scottish Enterprise, and the Food Standards Agency.

Weddings

The Scottish Ceilidh Band have extensive experience performing at wedding evening receptions providing a wide range of quality music that appeals to all ages and creates an inclusive intimate party atmosphere which brings family and friends together.

We regard the role of our caller as very important to engage with the audience in a warm and personal manner when calling the dances. It goes without saying that any private party or wedding is a personal and special event for those involved and The Scottish Ceilidh Band always regard it as a privilege to be asked to provide entertainment.

We regard it of the utmost importance to engage with the audience combining quality musicianship with an intimate and warm approach to make it a fun night where the audience are the stars of the show!

The following formats for the evening are a popular choice:

• A single ceilidh dance set from 8-10pm before buffet served followed by a DJ set until midnight.
  This is a popular choice for those who want a mix of traditional ceilidh for guests young and old in the early part of the evening and contemporary late night dancing for the younger party animals!

• A two set performance between 8 and 12pm with a buffet served in between at the break. This is a popular choice for those who don't fancy the idea of a DJ, prefer a 'live' band performing a mix of dance and songs all evening and with added option to play the bride and groom's choice of music through our sound system via iPod etc during the break.

Whatever your choice we are more than happy to fit in with your preferred format for the day and we would be delighted to provide any advice you may require when planning your wedding evening reception.

Ceilidh & Disco

The Scottish Ceilidh Band offer a Ceilidh / DJ package which comprises an intimate and inclusive evening of mad fun ceilidh dancing followed by a disco dancing finale with stunning sound system and fantastic lightshow.

Very popular for weddings, this is a fun evening full of great music & dancing for all ages and is the perfect entertainment package for weddings, company events and private parties.

The ceilidh part of the evening is hosted by our engaging and personable caller and our disco finale is hosted by a passionate & energetic DJ. Their job is to entertain the audience and make sure you and your guests have the best time possible.

All our DJs are vetted members of the Wedding DJ Alliance with Full Public Liability Insurance. All equipment is PAT Tested.
