About Stano Sax – professional Saxophonist based in Florence, Italy
Stano Sax was born in Prato on December 16, 1982.
His first approach to music was at the age of 5, studying piano at the “Cianchi” Music School in Prato.
At the same time, he also discovered a strong attraction to the stage and theatre, performing monologues and short comedies with an entertainment company that took him on summer tours throughout Tuscany.
Discovered to be a dramatic baritone, he studied opera singing with lyric baritone Giovanni Mazzei (a student of the renowned Rolando Panerai), and later with Maestro Valerio Del Piccolo, a lyric bass, sacred music scholar, and orchestra conductor based in Florence.
Inspired by models of operatic versatility, he began writing lyrics and singing as a countertenor in an A.O.R. (Adult Oriented Rock) group and, also as lead vocalist, in a Progressive Hard Rock tribute band to Queensrÿche.
Meanwhile, he enrolled at the “G. Verdi” Music School in Prato, where he studied music theory and piano, primarily to improve intonation and gain a more in-depth understanding of musical intervals.
A lifelong lover of wind instruments, he later found his true musical chemistry with the saxophone, which became his preferred and main instrument.
With his repertoire, he expresses himself best through Chicago Blues, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Funk, Bossa Nova, Latin, Classic Rock, and Deep House...
He is currently studying Jazz and Harmony. He has collaborated with a Japanese digital label, through which he has composed original tracks that he performs during some of his live shows.
He currently performs at rooftops, hotel conference rooms, banquet halls, and fashion shows in Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, and Switzerland.
He works with brands for conferences, fashion events, luxury weddings, and corporate occasions.
He is available to travel throughout Italy and abroad.
Upon request, in addition to the saxophone, he also incorporates his voice and diatonic harmonica into his performances.
A broad musical culture (which is never enough!) allows him to adapt both his voice and instrument to any musical language, without ever losing his unique stylistic identity.
