About The Bandits
The Bandits are a Cardiff-based jazz group, performing sophisticated music from all eras of jazz and even some personalised interpretations of modern popular songs.
We take huge delight in surprising the audience with jazz covers of some well-known pop songs and TV themes, sometimes completely improvised on the spot!
But if that’s not quite what you are looking for, we also have a catalogue of over 250 jazz standards to dress your evening in style.
Although we market ourselves as a jazz group, we also play blues, funk and latin. If you want something traditional, different and/or interesting, book The Bandits!
They frequently appear at various venues in South Wales, including The Dead Canary and Moonshine at Lab22, as well as for weddings and private parties in the region.
The members are Jack McDougal (Sax/Vocals), Matthew Poad (Piano/Vocals) and Iori Haugen (Drums/Vocals).

"We cannot thank The Bandits enough for their performance at our wedding. They were perfect. They played during the drinks and garden party during the day and everyone absolutely loved them! They were upbeat and wonderful and put a smile on everyone's faces. Due to the unpredictability of the weather, the boys moved their equipment from outside to inside the marquee and back out again several times in order to escape the rain. They did this without fuss and were so lovely about it. They are a very talented band and even played us beautifully down the aisle! I also want to mention that they also went the extra mile and saved the day when the DJ's speaker for the speeches blew. They transferred another one from the dance room and set it all up just in time! We would recommend The Bandits over and over again. We are so glad that they played at our wedding.
