About Under the Stars – professional Jazz Duo based in Bologna, Italy
Under the Stars is a jazz project based in Bologna, performing all across Italy at weddings, private events and stylish venues.
The group is led by a seasoned jazz guitarist who collaborates with some of the finest musicians in Europe, depending on the event and availability.
Whether it's a laid-back cocktail hour or a classy evening concert, their sound is warm, elegant and full of character.
The core of the group is a duo, typically guitar and saxophone, but they can also perform as a trio, quartet or full quintet.
Depending on what the client is looking for, they can add instruments like double bass, keyboards, drums or vocals.
This flexibility allows them to create the perfect atmosphere for any occasion, from small intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.
They usually perform two sets of around 50 minutes each, though they’re happy to adjust timings to suit the flow of the event. In between sets, they can provide a curated playlist via laptop to keep the mood going without interruption.
Under the Stars is completely self-contained when it comes to sound, they bring their own amplifiers and instruments, although they do not provide lighting.
Setup and soundcheck usually takes about an hour or two before the performance begins, depending on the size of the group.
The amount of space they need also depends on the line-up, but they’re always happy to adapt to the venue.
They're comfortable performing outdoors or in more unconventional locations like barns, beaches, gardens or terraces, as long as the setup feels safe and allows them to play comfortably.
They're also happy to learn special song requests, such as a first dance, with a bit of notice.
Under the Stars is a great choice for those who want live jazz that feels personal, polished and perfectly suited to the setting.
