"…they listened to all of my thoughts and put together the most perfect performance. They played all of my favourite Motown songs and also some new music that the children enjoyed - everyone thought they were amazing and danced the night away. Thank you so much - I will definitely be in touch again for any future family events."

FAQs

How big is the band?Bring The Beat regularly play as an 8 piece band consisting of vocals, guitar, piano, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. However as we will tailor the performance to your event, we do also perform as both a smaller unit for more intimate occasions and have XXL party band for those events that really want to go to the next level!
Where do you play?In short, anywhere and everywhere! Bring The Beat are available for bookings globally so don't hesitate to get in touch and let us know how we can support your plans.
Do you take requests?Yes! We will learn any first dance free of charge if it isn't something we already know. We do have an extensive catalogue of songs as you can see on our repertoire page but if there by any chance we've missed your favourite song then we are happy to learn it for a small fee.
Can I see the band before I book?Bring The Beat do play public gigs throughout the year. Get in touch for more information about any upcoming performances.
How long do you play for?Typically Bring The Beat will play 2 x 1-hour sets with a short break as we find this is the best way to generate and sustain momentum with the crowd. However, the band can be available to play for longer at a further cost or alternatively, perhaps preceding the set with either an acoustic or jazz set to progressively build into the main entertainment. We will work with you to create the best plan of action for your specific event.
How long will you require to set up?In a quiet space with easy access, Bring The Beat would typically need about an hour to set up and effectively soundcheck. Lighting and sound provided by our affiliates may take longer but we will discuss this in advance to ensure that things run seamlessly on the day.
Can you arrive in the morning to set up for an evening performance?Yes! We completely appreciate that sometimes logistics will dictate the plan of action for the day and we want to make your planning as simple as possible. This will involve a small extra cost.
What happens when you're not playing?Included in the initial booking price, we will make sure that there is music being played through our professional sound system before, in between and after our sets, or even better you can book our DJ to take over when the band are not on stage. Either way, the music won't stop and nor will your party.
How much space do Bring The Beat need? This depends on if/what staging you might want us to provide. As a general rule of thumb, for the 8 piece band, we could recommend approximately 6m x 4m to be safe.
Can you play with a sound limiter? This firmly depends on the specific set up of the venue. Bring The Beat endeavour to put on a show that everyone can enjoy and that certainly doesn't mean playing so loud that it damages peoples ears. Different venues set their meters to different levels and whilst we will always try to adhere to any sound meters that are in place, sometimes even a moderate volume can be enough to turn off the power. Having seen limiters trip the power from audience cheering and applause along, our recommendation would be to avoid them wherever possible but we will work with you if that is a factor on the day.
What does the band need at the venue? We don't want to ask for too much as we are there to make your day great but there are a few things that allow us to put on a great show for you: - Power - ideally 4 x 13amp sockets (absolute minimum 2 within 6-8 meters of the stage. - Space - the band will work to the space available, within reason, but would highly recommend having a separate dancefloor where possible. - Food - as a Bring The Beat performance can be a 10+ hour day, we do require a hot meal and soft drinks to help us keep your party rocking. - Greenroom - doesn't have to be spectacular but the band do need a suitably large private space to change and get ready in.
