About Ellie Tessa – professional wedding harpist based in Cheshire
Ellie Tessa is an award winning harpist with a wealth of experience performing at events and concerts throughout the UK. Her performances span solo recitals, orchestral engagements, chamber music concerts and solo performances at weddings and functions.
Ellie Tessa studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, gaining both a first class honours degree and a Masters of Music with distinction. During her studies, she won the prestigious RNCM Concerto Competition and was twice a finalist in the RNCM Gold Medal competition- the highest accolade for performance offered by the college.
I'm regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Eyam Hall in Derbyshire and The Bailey in Skipton.
Whilst Ellie Tessa is classically trained and she has a wealth of repertoire that will suit traditional tastes, she also regularly receives compliments for her contemporary repertoire.
Ellie Tessa's song list is entirely devised from arrangements that she has created by listening to a song and then transcribing the sheet music by ear.
Ellie Tessa takes a lot of care and consideration when learning new songs and she prides herself in creating arrangements that both captures the character of the song and also sounds idiomatic on the harp.
The majority of the songs in her repertoire are timeless staples that will forever be popular. However, she realises that for many couples, the songs that are most significant are often undiscovered gems.
With this in mind, Ellie Tessa takes requests to learn new songs to ensure that every wedding is as personal as possible.
Ellie Tessa brings an amplifier to all bookings, meaning that the harp will be loud enough to be heard at events with up to 150 guests. The amplifier is discreet and is battery powered, meaning it can be used outdoors.

"Ellie was excellent. Her playing was sublime and the range of her music was brilliant. The gentle sound of her harp was appropriate and just exactly what we had hoped for at our Afternoon Tea. Ellie could not have made us happier. What a lovely young lady Ellie is and I wish her all the very best for her future assignments. Thanks and regards to Ellie."
"Ellie responded to any questions leading up to the event promptly. She was a true professional and didn't require any guidance from us, she just knew what to do. The music was fantastic and added a lovely atmosphere to the reception meal. Everyone enjoyed it!"
"Ellie Tessa brought so much more than just her beautiful music to my event. Firstly, and I think very importantly, I found the booking process worked well through FixTheMusic, and I was quite happy that the details of where, when, what, how long and how much were all covered. Ellie went the extra mile and confirmed access details with the venue, and I was pleased that she not only arrived in good time, but was set up and ready to go without any fuss. I can recommend her to anyone booking a wedding or similar sort of complicated (and stressful) event, as it's one less thing to worry about. Secondly, Ellie presented herself well and engaged with my guests (something I had asked for her to do), and my guests all took an interest. I wanted more than just music, I wanted to learn about this instrument and what it's like to play it, and Ellie educated, entertained and informed us. My guests were queuing up to ask questions afterwards, and all were bubbling over with praise. Thirdly, it seems almost odd to mention it last, her music was wonderful, with each song more enchanting than the last."
