I'm a UK based saxophonist with many years of experience in all areas of live performance. I can work as a soloist, or as part of a band depending on your requirements.
Having started to play at the age of 12 (so that I could escape Maths lessons on a Tuesday), I graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2005 with a first-class honours degree in music.
I am regularly booked to perform for weddings and events at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa and Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool, UK.

After releasing my debut album in 2009, I formed my own quartet and have been busy playing the jazz venues & festivals of the UK.
Wedding Drinks Reception
This is the most popular option for solo saxophone sets. Michael can play solo saxophone to set the perfect ambience for your guests as they arrive at your drinks reception. Understanding that his job is to compliment and not dominate the proceedings, typically he would start playing as guests arrive.
Performances are usually 2 x 45-minute sets.
Wedding Ceremony
During the ceremony, you may wish to have entrance and exit music performed on the saxophone, and you may wish to have a musical interlude during the signing of the register. Often couples like to choose music which has a special meaning to them for during the ceremony, so it is best to get in touch to discuss what music you would like played during the ceremony.
Wedding Breakfast
Often the wedding breakfast is accompanied by a musical backdrop. Michael can set the perfect relaxed atmosphere with a host of classic or contemporary tunes.
Sax & DJ set
I’ve been lucky enough to participate in this relatively unknown world of live performance from its inception in the late 90s.
I now regularly play in nightclubs for those who are looking to bring that extra live music element to their events. Michael brings his be-bop knowledge and jazz sensibilities to a wide mix of deep house, funky house and electro house records.
A wireless Saxophone microphone and effects unit gives flexibility to the performances and enables me to play comfortably with any resident house DJ.
I recently played sax for the 'Cream Classics' event at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral alongside the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
