How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Soul Band in France?

Soul bands tend to be more expensive than regular covers bands. This is because a soul band usually consists of more musicians and instrumentalists in order to create the authentic soul and funk sound.

Most songs within the soul and funk band repertoire demand instruments such as a trumpet, saxophone and trombone.

You would probably want to book a band with two or more singers. Having at least one male and one female soul singer in the band allows the soul band to perform a much wider range of repertoire and songs.

This means that the soul band you hire could consist of 6 or more musicians and singers.

The average cost of hiring a France soul band is €4,495. Some bands will be much cheaper (e.g. if you don't book a horn section and only choose one singer), and other soul bands charge more than this depending on the size of band and their experience.

What Kind of Music Do the Funk, Motown and Soul Bands Perform?

What kind of events do the soul bands perform at?

Our soul bands perform at a wide variety of events, including weddings, corporate events, product launches, birthday parties, charity functions and festivals.

Will there be more than one singer in the band?

Many of our bands include both a male and female singer in the band. This allows the band to cover a wider range of songs in their repertoire. Some bands also have male and female backing vocals. The number of additional vocals will have an impact on the overall price of the band, so some of the cheaper Motown soul bands will probably include only one soul singer.

What musical instruments will be in the soul band?

The standard line-up will include singer (or singers), guitar, bass guitar, drums and percussion and possibly keyboards. Additional instruments include a horn or brass section made up of trumpet, saxophone or trombone.

What kind of songs will the soul bands perform?

The bands perform a range of classic soul hits to more modern soul songs. How much does it cost to hire a soul band?

Soul bands tend to be more expensive than the average pop or rock covers band. This is largely because of the number of musicians and singers required to produce an authentic soul sound. The average price of a soul band on FixTheMusic is £1,850. The prices range from around £1,500 for a smaller soul band, up to £3,000 or more, depending on the size of soul band you choose to hire.

How long do the soul bands perform for?

As is standard for wedding or corporate entertainment, most live soul bands will provide around 2 hours of live music. This is often split into 2 x 60 minute sets, or 3 x 40 minute sets. The bands will provide background music (a "laptop DJ service") in between the live music. Most bands arrive at the venue at around 5pm and expect to finish by 12 midnight.

Is it possible to see the soul bands perform live before I book?

It's often not possible to see the soul bands perform live before you book them for your wedding or event. Most professional soul bands rarely perform at public gigs, as most of their bookings are at private events such as weddings and corporate events. It is possible from time to time though, so feel free to ask your band and they'll let you know if they have any public gigs coming up.

Should I hire a soul band for my wedding?

Soul bands bring a unique flavour to wedding receptions. Their size usually means they provide a visual spectacle to the evening's entertainment. And the range of songs covered by such bands (from soul to pop, funk and maybe even some rock), means there is usually something for each of your wedding guests.
