Does the band also do Ceilidhs? (asked by Emma on 28 January 2021)
Response from Tom: Yes we can perform 3 Scottish dances and we will teach the dances as well. Dances are usually Strip the Willow, Gay Gordons and Dashing White Sergeant. This is a free service which we include in the playing time stated.
"The 8 piece band we booked were absolutely incredible and we got so many compliments from our wedding guests. The dance floor was full the entire evening and they did such a good job of keeping the good vibes. They were unable to perform our first dance song but we understood the reasons for this (difficult song to arrange and a tough vocal key) but this was a bit unfortunate given this was one of the main reasons we booked them. Our requests for changes to the set list weren't taken into account either meaning we didn't get our preferred last song, but these were things that none of our guests would have known so overall we would still recommend these guys for a brilliant wedding band. Thank you!"
"The Scottish Soul Collective were hands down the best wedding band we’ve ever seen play!! They were amazing!! Their energy, the vocals, the instrumentals, just everything about them brought the energy to our dance floor. All our guests kept raving about how good the music was! - and of course were dancing until the very end! They were super accommodating to all our requests as we wanted a couple of ceilidh songs in the middle, then a DJ with sax accompaniment to finish off the night. They couldn’t have been any better. Would 10000% recommend! Lots of love, Mr & Mrs Goodman x"
"The band were absolutely brilliant and the guests were euphoric about how good they were. They made the wedding very special. Would definitely book them again if the occasion arises. Thanks so much! Michael."
"What a band!! We booked the Scottish Soul collective for our wedding at Boturich Castle in Loch Lomond and they were simply amazing. All our guests were blown away by them and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see them again at friends weddings. They were very good at communicating with us, taking requests and also setting up at the venue with minimal hassle. Anyone looking for a band I cannot recommend them highly enough!!"
"Words cannot describe how incredible The Scottish Soul Collective were at our wedding! From start to finish they went above and beyond, and kept our guests dancing all night long! They learnt our first dance song perfectly and we have received so many compliments from guests on how incredible the performance was! Tom was an absolute dream to work with beforehand and on the day of our wedding, I could not recommend the band more! I want to organise another event just so I can experience the band again, they are the best there is!"
"Good afternoon Tom, We had an absolutely amazing evening at Boclair on the 29th with you guys. Please pass our sincere thanks on to your band. The first dance interpretation was incredible and was exactly what we wanted. You guys nailed it! Many thanks again, Greg & Natalie."
"I would highly recommend The Scottish Soul Collective! We had them for our wedding and the talent and skill of the musicians is amazing. Set up went very smoothly without any need for us to be involved, they just made it all work! We had a 7 piece band playing which we think worked very well. It feels like the additional cost for two more band members (upgrading from the standard 5 piece band) definitely seems worthwhile and good value. We had a couple of requests but otherwise the band put together their own set list and all the tunes were brilliant and got everyone dancing the whole night long! Emails with Tom in advance of the wedding were very professional and communication was clear and prompt. 10 / 10 from me!"
"Hi there, Just a quick email to say thank you so much for performing at our wedding! The band was incredible and had people dancing all night. So many people have commented on how amazing you were too - so thank you! Have a lovely Christmas and new year when it comes. Rowan and Darren x"
"Hi Tom, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you so much for the performance on Saturday. I'm so sorry I didn't catch you at the end, I was having a bus issue I had to deal with! Everyone loved the music and it was perfect for all our younger guests, as well as the older ones. Thank you so much to the band for learning all I want for Christmas because it was one of my favourite moments and I know how last minute the request was. We really appreciate it. Thank you for making it all so seamless and being so flexible when the timings changed! All the best, Lindsey and Graeme."
"Hi Tom, Thank you so much for helping to make Ilana and Adam's wedding such an amazing day. From the Israeli dancing to the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond you were sensational. Everyone has been talking about how amazing the band was...and you were simply awesome. I am particularly grateful that you learned the Israeli dancing and blew the roof off with your performance. It was unbelievably good and it came across like you had been doing it for years. Also, the jazz trio was excellent and provided a terrific atmosphere throughout dinner. You personally have been terrific to work with and I cannot thank you enough. Much appreciated and best wishes, Lionel."
"Scottish Soul Collective were absolutely brilliant! We opted for the 8 piece band and were so pleased with their performance. Guests were up all night dancing and they really got everyone involved. They are a great band for people of all ages as their repertoire suits all music tastes. Fantastic."
"Hi Tom, Just want to say a massive thanks for the performance the other night! Absolutely loved every minute of it and you guys were amazing for the first dance. Thanks for helping make it such a special day for us. Will be recommending you to everyone I know for future weddings and hope to hear you guys again soon! Thanks again, Joe."
"The Scottish Soul Collective were awesome. We and all our guests absolutely loved them. People on the dance floor all night long. Couldn't recommend them more! Thanks, Alfred."
"The Scottish Soul Collective were fantastic! They took care of everything on our wedding day, from background music to the evening's entertainment. We cannot recommend them enough."
"Thank you for making the event a huge success, I couldn't have done it without you. The songs you played were great and everyone had a great night. I'll be recommending you for future events."
"We could not be happier with The Scottish Soul Collective: they had everyone up on the dance floor for every single number and were able to play our first dance request perfectly! Everyone who attended commented on how technically brilliant, fun, and enthusiastic the band were. Thank you guys for making it such a fantastic party!"
"What a fantastic evening The Scottish Soul Collective provided for us! From the start they were so easy to work with and played our first dance song to perfection. Such talented singers and musicians and the tunes kept coming all evening. What an incredible selection of songs that got everyone of all ages dancing. We’ve been asked so many times about booking them by our guests. We all had so much fun all evening because they looked like they were having a blast performing. Thanks to Tom and all the band for arguably the best part of our day, after getting married of course!"
"Absolutely amazing wedding band! So helpful and responsive on the lead up to the big day...nothing was a problem. On the day itself Tom managed all the setting up and the music at the ceremony was a perfect kick start to the day! The band at the evening reception were just amazing. The dance floor was never empty and they were so lovely. Excellent wedding band-talented, professional and loads of fun. Thank you!"
"Hi Tom, We didn't get the chance to say thanks for last night. You guys were amazing and everyone had such a good time. We literally had the best day & night. Thanks again, Anna and Will."
"The Scottish Soul Collective, specifically Tom, were amazing to us during what for many has been a difficult time (organising a wedding during the pandemic). We booked the band as an 8 piece a couple of years ago, after seeing them play a few times in Edinburgh at the Grass Market. Covid struck and restrictions were ever-changing. This left us in a position where we felt the best thing to do was to cancel a lot of our vendors including the band. They were very understanding and were so good about it that we wanted to go back to them once things started to settle. When it came to it, we did just that and got back in touch with Tom. Restricted by numbers we could only have 3 band members. We really wanted a jazzy feel to the band so Tom suggested a sax, guitar and vocalist. A strange mix but they made it work, even sending us some demos. Come our wedding day, The Scottish Soul Collective arrived well on time. We were running late but they rolled with it, set up quickly and played an amazing unique version of Kodaline - the one including sax for our first dance. A performance we will never forget. With restrictions they could not play loud music for us to dance to but their selection of music for the background was ace and they interacted with guests well during their breaks. We are hoping to have a proper party in a few years once covid is over and will 100% approach these guys again. Couldn't rate them highly enough."
"It’s hard to put into words how happy we were to find The Scottish Soul Collective. We booked both the jazz duo and the full 9-piece band, and we couldn’t have been happier. From the first enquiry right through to the last song, Tom and the band were professional, timely, and cared so much about our day."
"Look no further, this is the band you need for your wedding! These guys played at our wedding at Winton Castle and blew everyone away. From young to old the dance floor was filled all night. A fantastic experience and one which we will never forget. Professional musicians and so very, very friendly. Quite simply, they are OUTSTANDING!"
