Over the past few years City Lights Showband has built up a reputation as being the best party band around and have flawlessly entertained audiences and clients throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

All band members are all active within the upper echelons of the music session world and City Lights Showband now brings them to your event at an affordable price.

City Lights Showband's boys and girls have performed with artists such as Adele, Taio Cruz, Maxi Priest, Shalamar, Plan B, Larry Graham, Eliza Doolittle, Sam Sparro, Terence Trent D’Arby, Mike Skinner, Jools Holland Big band and The Miles Davis band to name a few.

City Lights Showband as a band have appeared on BBC 1 Television and have played for an elite list of past clients, including The Moroccan Royal Family and Manchester City Football Club, The Ambassador of Azerbaijan as well as performing at destination weddings across Europe and luxury 5 start hotels in the Middle East.

The experience and talent within the band has led to an extensive and ever-expanding repertoire from which the band can select from, making their live sets diverse and fresh. City Lights Showband are adept at playing iconic dance floor classics from many different genres including classic funk, soul, disco and Motown, as well as modern tracks from the acid jazz, R&B and pop scene.

City Lights Showband's musicians understand the importance of having the right music at the right event; it is the key element to a successful party and this band has it nailed when it comes to having something for everyone.

City Lights Showband are fully self-sufficient providing your event with everything from a quality PA system and lighting rig with dedicated technical engineers, transport, mixed party music played before between and after live sets and the option of both formal and informal stage wear.

Radio microphones come as standard and are always available for speeches, auctions or toastmaster to use. Set times consist of 2 x 1 hours of live playing time as standard with the option of an extra 30 minute or 1 hour available at an additional fee.

City Lights Showband are the top of their game when it comes to providing live music for events. The band sound fantastic, look great and are an ideal choice for any event – if you want an amazing party atmosphere and a packed dance floor all night long.

Jewish weddings

We are often asked what is the “normal” format of a Jewish wedding. The simple answer is that there isn’t one.

Any wedding is a special event designed to meet the requirements of a bride and groom as they come together on their special day and a Jewish wedding is the same.

Your Jewish wedding can be as traditional or contemporary as you desire. We can help you mix traditional Jewish dances with contemporary dances and secular music.

You as the bride and groom should choose what to include in your special day based on how traditional the wedding festivities will be.

Modern couples may decide to devote a part of their Jewish wedding reception music to participating in classic traditional dances.

This decision will often rest upon the couple’s own wishes, requests from the family or the number of guests who are familiar with more traditional Jewish wedding dances.

If you discuss your wishes and feelings with us then we can help you decide on the best format for your Jewish wedding.

Music for the Chuppah Ceremony

For the Chuppah ceremony many clients like to have traditional, live music which will normally come in the form of a duo or a trio.

Traditionally this would be a clarinet, accordion and double bass. Getting the music right for the Chuppah is paramount and our repertoire is always selected with great care.

City Lights Showband's specialist Klezmer Trio are a traditional Jewish music band can play 15 to 20 minutes while your guests arrive to be seated.

They can play music throughout the ceremony where requested and at the end of the ceremony while the guests adjourn to the drinks reception.

The band is acoustic and therefore mobile allowing them to play their instruments whilst leading the guests into the reception room and then carry on with a Simcha set of music.

Bar or Bat Mitzvah party

As an experienced party band we can provide the required blend of music and entertainment for your Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah party.

We are competent in performing a large selection of traditional Israeli music for dancing and can provide written testaments from previous clients confirming that we are well-versed in the formalities of Jewish events.

We will provide a fun and exciting evening with songs to keep the younger generation entertained, whilst maintaining the balance so that you, your family and your friends can enjoy themselves too.

Our versatility enables us to perform not only Jewish music but songs from the 1950’s right through to today’s chart hits, liaising closely with you from booking up to the event in order to ensure that we provide you with an appropriate combination of live music and entertainment that you and your guests will really enjoy.
