About Our Italian Folk Bands
FixTheMusic has selected some of Italy's finest folk bands – these bands include traditional Italian folk groups, as well as modern Mumford-style folk bands.
The traditional folk bands include vocalists and instrumentalists (such as accordion player and guitarist), and perform Neopolitan classic songs such as O Sole Mio, Funiculì, Funiculà and Torna a Surriento. Most of our folk groups are based in Florence and perform across Tuscany for destination weddings. However, we can also source local folk groups in Sicily, Rome, Puglia, Venice and other parts of Italy.
What kind of events do the Italian folk bands perform at?
Our folk groups are in high demand performing at weddings in Italy – not just local Italian weddings, but also destination weddings. They add a fun and traditional feel to the proceedings, and are particularly popular during drinks receptions or as part of the celebrations during the evening meal.
The Mumford-style indie / folk bands are more commonly booked for the evening dancing, where they provide the musical entertainment after dinner, often in combination with a DJ.
As they often perform acoustically, the folk groups can usually wander around and mingle with guests. And if the weather is good, they can also do this outside.
How much does a folk group cost to hire for my wedding or event?
A traditional Italian folk group will cost around 850 eur for a trio. For an amplified or larger band, you can expect to pay around 1,200 - 1,500 eur depending on the size. Other factors will impact the price, including how far they have to travel and whether they need accommodation.
