What kind of music will the jazz band perform?
A particularly popular trend is for modern jazz bands to play pop or rock music but in a vintage and jazzy style. A swing band almost always includes a singer in the group. They will cover classic "Rat Pack" tunes (covering artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr).
Many of our bands also perform in the Great Gatsby style, specialising in music from the 1920s – often with a more modern twist too and sometimes even combined with electro-swing music. This style is frequently referred to as post-modern jukebox band style.
Gypsy jazz or gypsy swing (also known as jazz manouche) is also increasingly popular, as well as purely acoustic jazz bands. Trad and vintage jazz bands perform more Dixieland, ragtime music and New Orleans-inspired songs that originated in the early 1900s. These bands usually include a full brass or wind section, such as trumpet, trombone, and even sousaphone. These bands are often roaming jazz bands – and some can even perform as marching jazz bands.

What line-ups are available with most jazz bands?
If you wanted a bigger line-up (e.g. a 6-piece or 7-piece jazz band), the additional instruments would likely include saxophone, trumpet, trombone or more singers.
Jazz duos and jazz trios are also frequently booked – especially for background music, e.g. at an outdoor garden party, drinks reception or even a wedding ceremony.
How long does the jazz band take to set up?
For instance, a jazz duo will set up faster than a full seven-piece band.
How long do jazz musicians play for?
If you're looking for additional or longer sets, you can discuss this with the band when making your booking.

How loud will the jazz band be?
Many of our jazz bands can perform without amplification (i.e. as just an acoustic jazz band) – but they are only really suitable as background music or where the number of guests at your event is relatively small. If you want the band to provide music for dancing (e.g. at your wedding reception), then you'll want the band to be amplified through their PA system.
Instruments such as the band's drum kit and horns like a trumpet, trombone or saxophone, could trigger a noise limiter at your venue. It's always best to speak with your jazz band about any noise limits at the time of booking.

Do I need to provide equipment for a jazz band?
For larger venues and events, check with the band when booking, as more sound equipment or lighting may be needed to make your event sparkle, which can usually be arranged as an optional extra.

What Kind of Events Do the Italy Jazz Bands Perform At?
All of our Italy jazz and swing bands are available for hire at weddings, corporate events, private parties, charity events and product launches throughout Italy.
For weddings, they often perform at the wedding reception in the evening, but are frequently booked to provide background music at the wedding cocktails or even the wedding ceremony. During this part of the day, they might provide instrumental music only (i.e. without their lead singer).
Where in Italy Will the Jazz Bands Perform?
Each jazz band in Italy is happy to travel all over the country for events. Most of our groups are based around Tuscany, Naples and Venice, but we can also provide jazz music for events in Bologna and other parts of northern Italy, Puglia in the south, Sicily, Rome, Marche, around Lake Garda and Lake Como, along the Amalfi Coast and almost all other parts of Italy.
What Kind of Music Do the Italian Jazz Bands Perform?
Our Italy jazz bands perform a wide mix of local and international jazz standards and swing songs. Popular requests include I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Oh Mamma, Voglio Anche Io Il Fidanzato and Tu Vo Fa' L'americano.
Some jazz bands can also perform a selection of pop covers – usually these are done in a slightly jazzy or swing style, in keeping with the feel and mood of the band.
How Much Does It Cost to Hire an Italy Jazz Band or Swing Band?
The average price of a jazz band in Italy is 2,600 EUR. This is for a quartet featuring vocals, guitar, bass guitar and drums. Most groups have the option to add more instruments (the saxophone is extremely popular at the moment) or more singers. They can also provide smaller line-ups, e.g. a jazz duo or jazz trio, which can be effective for intimate events or for background music.
