What is the definition of a wandering band?
A wandering band is a type of musical group that usually performs acoustically and can wander or roam, usually between guests. This is unlike most traditional bands that are static and connected by wires to a PA system or other kind of amplification.
Wandering bands first became popular in France. The tradition started in the French Riviera, where they are still very popular at corporate events, on luxury yachts and at destination weddings. Their popularity quickly spread and the UK is now home to some incredibly talented wandering bands.

Are all wandering bands acoustic?
Not necessarily. There are a handful of wandering bands that are also electric, meaning that they are amplified. They use state-of-the-art wireless technology to amplify the band. This means the band can be louder than a purely acoustic wandering band and is more suited to parties where the number of guests exceeds around 80 people.
