£1,500 - £2,500
Sheffield-based but a regular fixture at Doncaster weddings, The Party Pioneers have played events at venues including Rossington Hall and Doncaster Racecourse. Their set list spans Motown, disco, indie and modern chart hits, with a brass section that gives the performance real depth. With 22 confirmed bookings on FixTheMusic and a price range of £1,500 to £2,500, they sit in the popular mid-tier bracket. The band learn your first dance song as part of the booking and supply full PA and lighting.
£1,550 - £2,700
Also Sheffield-based, Groove Masters specialise in funk, soul and pop covers with a tight rhythm section and punchy horn arrangements. They have 12 confirmed bookings and cover the full evening reception, typically playing two hour-long sets with a DJ playlist between them. If your venue has a sound limiter, they are experienced at working within those limits. Expect a lot of dancefloor interaction from the front line.
With 72 confirmed bookings and 14 reviews, CC Sax is one of the most active musicians on the platform in the South Yorkshire area. She plays solo saxophone sets over backing tracks, which suits drinks receptions, wedding breakfasts and evening sets where a full band might be too much. The format is flexible: she can play alongside a DJ for a hybrid set or perform standalone acoustic sets during the ceremony and canape hour.
£1,761 avg.
An indie and rock covers band with a confirmed Doncaster booking to their name. The Indie Rockers bring guitar-driven energy to evening receptions, pulling from Arctic Monkeys through to modern indie anthems. They are a good fit for couples who want something with more edge than a traditional wedding band. Typically booked from £1,500 to £2,500.
£2,526 avg.
A roaming acoustic act who move between guests rather than performing from a fixed stage. The Walkmen have performed at a Doncaster wedding and are well suited to smaller venues, barn weddings or receptions where guests are spread across a large space. Their format means no sound limiter issues and a more intimate feel during the drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
Hiring a live wedding band in Doncaster creates the perfect atmosphere for your guests to celebrate. From beautiful ballad singers to high-energy performers, it's all about getting people on the dance floor and creating memories.
Plus, bands will interact with your guests and ensure everyone has a fantastic time. While DJs can also be beneficial, many people agree that bands create an amazing experience for everyone and ensure that your guests won't forget the wedding reception.
There is a massive selection of talented live bands across Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire area, so you'll have no problems finding the right one for your preferences. Ultimate covers bands, lively pop bands, and retro bands, such as funk and Motown acts, will keep the dance floor packed.

Chilled out or refined events will love the atmosphere jazz, folk, indie, and soul bands create. Niche bands like festival-style and roaming musicians are also becoming more popular.

Bands on FixTheMusic have performed at a wide range of venues across Doncaster. Couples have booked live music at historic country houses like Rossington Hall and Hooton Pagnell Hall, where one couple hosted their wedding in a sailcloth marquee with a stage in the 11th century friary's garden. Other popular settings include Doncaster Racecourse, Owston Hall Hotel, Fishlake Mill and Doncaster Golf Club.
For more relaxed affairs, barn venues like Thornhurst Manor and Sutton Spring work well with acoustic duos and roaming bands. Larger venues with dedicated dance floors suit full party bands with brass sections. When you enquire through FixTheMusic, we match you with bands who have played your chosen venue before, or who know how to work with its specific setup requirements and sound limits.
Every Doncaster wedding on FixTheMusic starts with a couple telling us what they want. The enquiries we receive tend to follow a few common themes: upbeat party sets to get the dance floor moving, acoustic acts for daytime drinks and canapes and specific song requests for first dances. Here is what real couples have written to us:
Bawtry, Doncaster
We are getting married and looking for someone to perform during the end of the wedding breakfast to get the party started after the lull of food. We have been to many weddings where there are singing waiters, we think it is a bit overdone and gimmicky but like the energy it brings. We enjoy upbeat dance type anthems and think it is a great option for us.
Tickhill, Doncaster
We would love you to play as the main band at our wedding in the later evening, to get people dancing. We love Motown in particular. The wedding will be in a large sailcloth marquee with a stage. The venue is an 11th century Friary and the wedding will be in the garden.
Askern, Doncaster
We are wanting a country night. Dolly, Kenny, Luke Combs if possible.
The average price of a Doncaster wedding band is £1,000 to £2,500. But, it really depends on the band's size, whether you want any additional services, popularity, and travel costs.
For example, solo singers and duos may charge around £200-£500, while three- and four-piece bands can start at £800.
Large bands are the most expensive option, and popular acts can sometimes charge over £2,500. It's also essential to remember that booking a band in South Yorkshire or other Northern locations may require you to pay extra for travel and accommodation.
If you want the band to play for longer than the standard set, they'll factor this into your quote. Friday and Sunday bookings usually work out as more affordable. The same goes for late autumn and winter dates.
When you book a Doncaster wedding band, you get live music, lighting, equipment, and playlists. The band will also learn your chosen first-dance song if necessary and provide a laptop DJ service. This is where your favourite songs will play while the band takes a break.
However, if you want to create a high-energy experience for your guests, booking a professional DJ to perform after the band finishes is a good idea.
Based on confirmed bookings through FixTheMusic, couples in Doncaster book their wedding band around 4 to 5 months before the wedding date.
For peak-season weddings between June and September, booking further ahead gives you more flexibility and the best choice of bands. July and September are the busiest months in the area.
If you're booking live music at the last minute, we'll do our best to find a suitable band for you.

Based on confirmed bookings through FixTheMusic, couples in Doncaster book their bands around 4 to 5 months before the wedding. July and September are the busiest months, so for summer dates we recommend booking 6 to 9 months ahead to get your first choice.
Absolutely. It's part of the service, and any reputable band will accommodate your first dance requests. If your song isn't well-known, please inform the band in advance, as they may need to learn it.
Yes, the band will provide lighting equipment if necessary and bring a PA system. Some venues in Doncaster may have regulations in place regarding space and noise. It's essential to ask the venue if the band will need to bring equipment in advance to manage any sound limiter in place.
The average total performance time is 2 hours, but many people choose to split it. For example, some will ask bands to play for half an hour during the drinks reception, then a 90-minute set during the main reception.
The band can also play background music during your ceremony, and some offer longer sets for an extra fee.
The standard option with most bands for hire is a laptop DJ service, where the band will play your chosen playlist during breaks.
Versatile bands that play a variety of genres will usually work with you to create a setlist. If you choose a niche band, you should be able to have some input into which songs the band plays. Some will also take requests from guests during the evening, which adds to the fun.
Again, it depends on the band's preferences. Some prefer to stay local, while others perform at events across South Yorkshire and the UK. Please check the band's profile and reach out to them regarding additional travel and overnight accommodation costs.
If you're looking to hire a brilliantly fun and charismatic band for your wedding, you've come to the right place.

Wow, where do I start? Luna Showband and Night Magic took our breath away. The most compliments I ever had on the wedding were the band and the singers. People just stared, as they couldn’t believe it. My mother-in-law who is from Canada said, we just don’t get talent like this in Canada! She was so happy. It was just phenomenal. The kids from Arizona who are spoilt and have seen every kind of wedding said it was the best music they have ever seen. It was truly out of this world!! I can’t believe you mastered the bee gees voice and did Night Fever, it was amazing!! When you called us to the stage to stand up there with you, we felt like legends and part of the band!! I will never forget it!! So epic!! Every time I remember those times on the dance floor, we beam with happiness!
