“We were looking for an authentic soul-dancehall experience for our wedding and could not believe the value that Disciples of Soul offered as a 9-piece band, complete with brass section. Their energy was better than any live show I’ve been to - they clearly love playing together and this gave an incredible infectious buzz to the whole dance floor. I’ve never seen so many guests dance so hard for so long!! There were little running battles between each instrumentalist, breathtaking drum, bass, guitar solos, plus personalised adaptations to modern and classic soul hits, all delivered by huge powerful vocals. The physical exertion of the brass section alone was staggering!! If you truly want a real dancehall experience, nothing can compare to this band unless you’ve managed somehow to reunite the Supremes themselves!! Furthermore, the band looked so classy, suited, booted and glamorous. Perhaps most importantly, they were a joy to work with, making the arrangements simple and reassuring - we dealt with the drummer, Jim who was accommodating and courteous throughout, the band even learned our first dance for us and tailored the set to include requests. It was the best feature of the wedding, and easily the best value for money I have ever spent on anything!! I will now try to find an excuse to re-book this band for something… anything!!!”

Most soul bands offer a DJ or disco service after their live sets. This is usually included in their standard entertainment pacakge. This always works out much cheaper than hiring a separate DJ, but most are also happy to work alongside a professional DJ if you hired a DJ too.
