“Mashup Kings played at our wedding and they were absolutely INCREDIBLE! To give you a sense of our wedding, we’re in our early 30s .. we had tipis at a campsite.. and loads of people there were really into music. We therefore spent ages looking for a band which would get all generations on the dance floor, who wouldn’t be cheesy and who would play a variety of styles of music. And we definitely made the right choice. Everyone danced all night long and had the best time ever! What we loved most about them (which made them unique) is their incredible mash ups… from a garage mash up to Stevie Wonder to pop and rock… just such a mix of amazing tunes and having them as mash ups means you get to hear about 3 times as many amazing tunes as normal! The band were all so lovely and super high energy. Benji was also extremely helpful in the run up and set up, as we borrowed some of his gear for the music after the band and during a song my husband did during the speeches. “Dear Steve and Amy, Firstly, a massive congratulations on your new arrival! I hope you are still operating on adrenalin through those initial broken nights. Nothing can really prepare you for that....Apologies that I have not been in touch before now. You must think that the evening was a disaster! I have simply been very pushed for time - still clearing things away from the wedding and some long, hard days working in London, and only just getting to emails now. You are the very first! As you know, I had been so excited about securing Soul Central for Izi and Simon's wedding, replaying their demo tapes to my family and listening to them endlessly when I was working, all along imagining what the evening would sound like. A few days before the wedding, I suddenly began to worry that I had talked them up so much, and had so much anticipation that they could only disappoint. On top of that, the venue was not an easy set up for them because, like a military operation, we had to dismantle the dinner tables in a short space of time to make room for them to bring in their equipment. By the time they arrived, I was quite stressed. We are all agreed that not only did they live up to our original expectations, they truly surpassed them! I did not think that was possible! Such a wonderful mix of musicians with Eric and Shea fronting a fabulous line up. They kept the energy level high throughout the night and their soul and Motown vibe had everyone - of all ages - on the dance floor. One of the touching moments early on was when one of the Flower Girls (aged 3) asked for a special request - Humpty Dumpty - and the band immediately broke into a musical version of the nursery rhyme! It was so unexpected and kind of them, and she went to bed a very happy little girl. So many people asked who they were and commented on how much they enjoyed them, and I would happily recommend them to anyone for their special occasion (I believe you may get another booking from the evening). They are completely reliable and professional, they sound - and look - incredible and they are lovely people too. A band that offers everything! I would book them again, in a heartbeat. Thank you for organising everything with Soul Central so we could enjoy the wedding day to the full. We loved every minute! I hope that you and your new baby are well and thriving. Part of me wonders why ROAMEO's approach isn't the standard for weddings since it's so obviously superior to the normal setup, but the other part of me recognises that assembling a lineup with both the talent and charisma to pull it off is no mean feat. These guys knocked it out of the park and made the evening. I've had a number of requests for their contact details and as soon as I've ascertained that this is to book them rather than to ask them out on dates I shall send them your way. And that Thong Song arrangement...Hamish also rose to the occasion magnificently - his track selection was perfect, his handling of drunken Zimbabwean requests was professional, and I'm very grateful to him for expanding his range for the night. The dancefloor was packed throughout, and the atmosphere was great. I should also give a shout-out to the sound engineer, who very quickly made the necessary adjustments to the setup. And also to you - thank you for all your help and flexibility over the last few months. Planning an event during COVID is not straightforward, but arranging the music was really straightforward.”
