What Our Wedding Bands Say About Leeds Venues

We speak to bands regularly about what it's like performing at Leeds wedding venues. Here's what they've told us:

The Faversham, Woodhouse is a city-centre venue where Newfangled Groove performed at £1,400 for a summer wedding. The venue's general manager confirmed there are no sound limitations in the main hall, and parking is available for the band. The couple had a pre-wedding meeting with the band at the venue to walk through the day's schedule.

"What an absolutely amazing performance from start to finish at our wedding last weekend. Our dance floor was always full of our guests dancing and having the times of their lives."

That review is for Powerhouse Duo (sax, percussion and DJ), who performed at £1,795 at New Craven Hall, Leeds, a converted industrial space near the city centre that suits DJ and live musician combinations. The couple arranged a Zoom call with the band before booking to discuss the format.

The highest-priced Leeds booking in our data was NOMAD Lite at £3,750, performing as a roaming band at The Queens Hotel, Leeds, a grand city-centre hotel that has also hosted Jewish wedding ceremonies. The Jewish Wedding Singer performed at a Chuppah ceremony there, with the reviewer writing: "His singing was so beautiful and special. We've had so many guests ask us for his details for their future weddings. We loved his live acoustic set during dinner, and the Chuppah duets with our Rabbi were really incredible."

Oulton Hall, Rothwell is a spa and golf resort on the southern edge of Leeds. Josh Louis performed there at £413 for a wedding singer booking. The venue suits acoustic and solo performers for ceremony and drinks reception packages.

Reviews from local events in Leeds

Fantastic band - you need to book them! We're so glad we booked The Crossbones for our evening reception. Their sound is top quality and have a huge repertoire list to choose from. They even learnt a new song especially for our first dance. Not only did we love the band but our guests did too. The dance floor was never empty! Communication from James (drummer and manager) was excellent. We honestly can't recommend this band enough - if you're considering booking, just do it!

Midnight Arcade were hands down the best decision we made for our wedding day, we wanted a band that really brought energy to our reception with loads of throwback classics and they really delivered, singing Love Story on the dancefloor with everyone was an absolute highlight! The communication in the lead up to the event and on the day was flawless too. Really recommend these guys!

Ceilidh Storm were sensational. An authentic ceilidh experience with caller and demonstration. Also modern & youthful sound with the hits and some personal requests. They really got the balance. Guests' age range of 2-92 and everyone enjoyed it. Bit pricey but they worked hard for it and were easy to organise and communicate with. I would choose them again in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. Your whole band were exceptional, you made the night for our friends and family and helped make our day very special, even if it was a little cold! Thank you all so much.

Full House are exceptional! I booked them for my wedding and am so pleased that I did. The communication was easy and helpful. I was able to select which songs and genres of music we wanted for our evening celebrations from a very long and eclectic list provided by the band. Each song was performed with enthusiasm and incredible talent. The videos really do not do them justice! Our guests all commented on how great they were. The dance floor was always full. If you are considering booking them, just do it. You will be so pleased you did!

These guys were fantastic! On a practical level, they set up very fast, had an awesome set up with lights for dance floor etc, and they looked super sharp! On a musical level, they were superb. They did a belting version of "Show Me Love", and lots of funk and soul, with a great, tight rhythm section and two charismatic singers who knew how to get everyone moving! The dancefloor was full throughout - amazing work!! :D thank you all!

What an absolutely amazing performance from start to finish at our wedding last weekend. They made sure that everything we requested was not only delivered, but their passion and musical talents shone through and made everything absolutely outstanding. Our dance floor was always full of our guests dancing and having the times of their lives and we couldn’t have asked for any more for our wedding day. Music was such a massive part of our wedding day and we will be forever grateful for the time, effort and expertise that these two put into our special day! Thank you so much! Mr & Mrs Wales.

We had Full House play our wedding and I wanted to say again how pleased we and the guests were with the gig, the brass trio, DJ and the full band sets, we absolutely loved the music which made it a memorable night. You had guests from the ages of 2 up to 85 years old dancing throughout the night and our heavily pregnant friend doing the Soul Train - we truly loved it all! We have had so many positive comments from guests about how much they enjoyed the night and we just wanted to pass on again our thanks for such a fantastic set. Danny and the brass trio were excellent for my entrance and reception drinks and the night could not have been better with your set to top off a truly enjoyable and wonderful day. Thanks so much.

Leeds Wedding Band FAQs

How much does a wedding band cost in Leeds?

Confirmed Leeds wedding bookings through FixTheMusic range from £413 to £3,750, with a median of £1,530. This is below the wider Yorkshire average of £1,845, partly because Leeds has a strong market for solo performers, DJ combinations and acoustic duos alongside full function bands.

Can I book a Jewish wedding band in Leeds?

Yes. Leeds has one of the UK's largest Jewish communities, and we regularly supply musicians for Jewish weddings. The Jewish Wedding Singer has performed at The Queens Hotel in Leeds, providing Chuppah duets with the Rabbi and an acoustic set during dinner. Note that some Orthodox ceremonies require performances without microphone or guitar amplification, so mention any religious requirements in your enquiry.

Are DJ and live musician combinations available in Leeds?

Yes, and they're one of the most popular formats. Powerhouse Duo (sax, percussion and DJ) performed at New Craven Hall at £1,795, and The Pulse (DJ and percussion) has also played at Leeds weddings. These hybrid acts work well at converted industrial venues and city-centre spaces where a full band might be too loud or too large.

Can I book a band for a marquee wedding near Leeds?

Several Leeds couples have enquired about marquee and garden weddings. Most bands can perform outdoors provided there's shelter from rain and direct sunlight, and access to power. A compact 3-4 piece band or DJ with live sax works well in a marquee setting. Include your marquee plans in your enquiry so bands can advise on equipment needs.

Do Leeds wedding bands travel to Wetherby and Otley?

Yes. Most bands on FixTheMusic travel to venues across Leeds and the wider area. Wetherby, Otley, Harewood and Bramham are all regular destinations for our bands, and travel costs are typically included in the quote for venues within a reasonable radius of Leeds city centre.

What happens if the band cancels?

Cancellations are rare. If an emergency arises, we'll help you find a suitable replacement band right away.

Can we request extra sets or a longer performance?

Yes. Many bands offer flexible performance options, for example extending the evening by an additional 30-minute set or staying later for an after-party fee. It's best to arrange this ahead of time so they can plan accordingly.

We also help couples find wedding bands in Sheffield, Bradford, Harrogate, York and the wider Yorkshire area.

For a full list of our most-booked Yorkshire bands, see our best wedding bands in Yorkshire guide.
