How far in advance should we book a London wedding DJ?
London is one of the busiest wedding destinations in the UK, and DJs are often booked months in advance, especially for summer Saturdays. We recommend booking as soon as you confirm your venue to secure your first-choice DJ.
What kind of music will a wedding DJ in London play?
Most DJs have extensive libraries covering everything from current chart hits and dance music to Motown, soul, R&B and indie classics. You can provide a playlist of must-have songs or let your DJ read the crowd and adapt on the night.
Can we give our London wedding DJ a do-not-play list?
Yes. If there are certain tracks or genres you don’t want, you can share a list with your DJ in advance. They’ll respect your preferences and create a playlist that reflects your taste.
Do London wedding DJs bring their own equipment?
Yes, DJs supply decks, speakers, microphones and lighting. For larger venues or marquee weddings, extra sound or lighting equipment can be arranged if needed. Always check with your venue about space and power requirements.
Can a DJ work alongside a live band at our wedding?
Absolutely. Many couples choose to book both a live band and a DJ. The DJ can take over during the band’s breaks and continue late into the night. Most DJs are happy to share equipment with the band, but it’s best to confirm in advance.
Will a London DJ also act as MC?
Some DJs are happy to provide basic announcements, like introducing the first dance or announcing speeches. If you’d like a more formal MC role, it’s best to ask your DJ beforehand.
How long will a wedding DJ play for?
Standard bookings usually cover 4 to 5 hours of performance time, often from the end of dinner until the venue’s curfew. Extended sets can be arranged for an additional fee.

Can London DJs perform at outdoor weddings?
Yes, as long as there is cover and power available. Many DJs perform at outdoor receptions in marquee setups or rooftop venues, but protection from rain or direct sunlight is essential.
