Wedding Bands Across Lancashire

The Ribble Valley: Lancashire's wedding heartland

More of our confirmed Lancashire bookings take place in and around Clitheroe than anywhere else. Eaves Hall in West Bradford has hosted NOMAD Lite at £4,215 and The Club Collective at £2,055.

Fusion Girls performed at Mitton Hall at £2,450, The Slim Fits at Holmes Mill at £1,965, and Miri On Sax at Browsholme Hall and the Tithe Barn at £600.

Browsholme Hall couples consistently request a "magical, classy vibe" for their ceremony and drinks reception, with one couple telling us they wanted "background music from when the wedding guests arrive to drinks and shortly after the ceremony." At Gisburne Park Estate, one couple booked DJ George Jonathan and then asked about adding a saxophonist for the evening.

The Walkmen were booked at Hobbit Hill in Clitheroe at £2,930, and The Manchester String Quartet at Mitton Hall at £640.

Preston and the Fylde coast

For weddings at venues in and around Preston, including Wyresdale Park, Bartle Hall and Ribby Hall Village, see our dedicated Preston wedding bands page for confirmed booking prices and venue-specific details. For weddings in Blackpool, see our Blackpool wedding bands page.

Blackburn, Burnley and the east

Stanley House Hotel and Spa in Mellor, Blackburn, is a popular venue for both weddings and private parties. One couple booking here specifically requested "someone who specialises in R&B music" for their ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Another enquiry at Stanley House asked for "90s band covers with some 90s garage and house." In Burnley, Powerhouse Duo were booked at £1,845 for a DJ and sax event at a venue on Church Street, Padiham.

Bands on FixTheMusic have public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment.

Lancashire Wedding Band Prices: The Real Numbers

Confirmed bookings at Lancashire venues on FixTheMusic range from £600 to £4,215. Based on all confirmed bookings across the county, the median price is around £1,300.

What Lancashire Couples Are Looking For

Looking at what couples tell us in their enquiries, several distinct patterns emerge across Lancashire:

Folk and roaming bands for the Ribble Valley — Couples booking Browsholme Hall, Eaves Hall and the area around Austwick frequently request roaming folk bands and Mumford and Sons-style acoustic acts. One couple at Austwick near Lancaster specified "indie folk, modern folk, folk rock, Americana, festival folk, Mumford and Sons-inspired, Noah Kahan-style." See our roaming bands in Lancashire for options.

Brass bands playing modern hits — A growing trend in the Clitheroe area. One couple at Clitheroe requested "a brass band that plays modern hits and gets the party started," while another at Mitton Hall said "we think a brass band is super fun, but also keen on seeing other options."

Ceilidh with a caller — Ceilidh bands with callers are popular at rural Lancashire venues. See our ceilidh bands in Lancashire.

DJ and saxophone sets — Several Lancashire enquiries request the DJ and sax format. One couple booking at Gisburne Park Estate in Clitheroe booked a DJ and then asked about adding a saxophonist for the evening, after seeing a promo on the DJ's profile. See our DJ and sax groups in Lancashire.

90s covers and garage house — Couples in the Blackburn area have requested 90s-specific entertainment. One enquiry at Stanley House Hotel and Spa asked for "90s band covers with some 90s garage and house." Another couple in Hurst Green near Clitheroe wanted "a 90s style band, upbeat, party band that will have our guests up and dancing." See our 90s cover bands in Lancashire.

Jewish weddings — One couple booking at Mitton Hall specifically requested a band with "experience with Jewish weddings" and wanted "party music, 2010s and modern." Several bands on FixTheMusic specialise in Jewish wedding entertainment.

RnB and Motown — Couples at Stanley House in Blackburn have requested bands "who specialise in R&B music" for ceremony through to wedding breakfast. See our soul and Motown bands in Lancashire.

Irish and folk for the drinks reception — Couples at Eaves Hall have specifically requested "a traditional Irish band to play during our hour long drinks reception." One couple said they "love all the classics from the Dubliners and the Pogues and really want to liven up our reception." At Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, another enquiry asked for "live music, Irish and good energy and craic."

Sound limiters at Fylde coast venues — Some Lancashire venues have strict decibel limits. One couple booking at The River Barn in Poulton-le-Fylde were told by the venue that "the sound limitation is 95Db (decibels)" and were advised to "work with a 3 to 5 max line-up band and be mindful of the sound limiters." If your venue has a sound limiter, mention this in your enquiry so bands can bring appropriate equipment.

If you're planning a wedding at one of these venues, enquire now and we'll match you with bands who know the venue.

Reviews from local events in Lancashire

Hi Gavin, Just wanted to say a quick thank you!!! Everyone is buzzing about how good you were in the day and how fab you and the band were at night! I believe I succeeded in persuading my friend Emma to book you for her wedding too. We will be adding a good review to Facebook, but just wanted to say thanks for creating such a fab atmosphere! What can I say you were just amazing, the amount of comments we’ve had on you all is unbelievable, the guests were blown away by how talented you were, it honestly was the most surreal experience walking into that church with your voices filling it and it’s something I will never ever forget and cherish forever, thank you so much for making our special day an experience that myself and John and every one of our guests will never forget. I think we’re going to be disappointed at the next wedding we go to after ours 😂 my only regret is that you couldn’t stay longer I could’ve listened to you all night, you were just incredible! Thank you all once again and I really do hope I get the pleasure of seeing you live again, you’re all outstanding! Thank you so much, love Mr & Mrs Clayton.

Sublime performance, absolutely recommend! To be quite frank...unequivocally superb. From start to finish, James was a highly engaged manager who listened to every detail and also provided innovative solutions for us. The live set delivered in spades. This team simply ooze potential and it’s clear they delight in the mastery of their musical talents. Would recommend to anyone based on engagement, sublime guitar riffs, range and choice and also value for money. This really capped off a highly successful wedding with many asking me for their contact details. A very nice group of young gents to boot!

Do not think twice about booking Elevation Gospel Choir. They set the tone for the best day of our lives and it didn’t lose momentum all the way through until the end. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about the gospel choir since the wedding day (6 weeks ago!), it is literally the first thing people say to us every time they have seen us since that day. From the moment the singing began everybody there knew it was going to be magical. To top it off Laura sang the most beautiful rendition of Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros for our first dance, better than the original! The day really couldn’t have worked without all of Laura’s hard work so thank you so much! Charlotte & Liam.

Lancashire Wedding Band FAQs

How much does a wedding band cost in Lancashire?

Confirmed bookings at Lancashire venues range from £600 for a solo saxophonist at Browsholme Hall to £4,215 for a roaming duo at Eaves Hall. Based on all confirmed bookings, the median price is around £1,300. A standard four or five-piece party band typically costs between £1,200 and £2,500.

What kind of bands do couples book for Ribble Valley weddings?

Couples marrying at Browsholme Hall, Eaves Hall, Mitton Hall and Holmes Mill frequently request roaming folk bands, Mumford and Sons-style acoustic acts, and brass bands playing modern hits. One couple at Clitheroe asked for "a brass band that plays modern hits and gets the party started." Another at Browsholme Hall wanted "a magical, classy vibe for the opening few hours."

Can I book a ceilidh band for a Lancashire wedding?

Yes. Ceilidh bands with callers are popular at rural Lancashire venues. See our ceilidh bands in Lancashire for options.

Do Lancashire venues have noise restrictions?

Some do, particularly rural venues in the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland. If your venue has a sound limiter or curfew, mention this in your enquiry so bands can bring appropriate PA equipment and adjust their setup. Most bands on FixTheMusic carry their own PA systems and are experienced at working within noise limits.

How far in advance should I book a wedding band in Lancashire?

The median lead time for Lancashire enquiries is around eight and a half months. If your wedding is at a popular Ribble Valley venue like Eaves Hall or Mitton Hall, book early as these venues host many weddings and the best bands get taken quickly. For Preston-area venues including Wyresdale Park and Bartle Hall, see our Preston wedding bands page.

What time do bands typically play at Lancashire weddings?

One couple booking at Eaves Hall in Clitheroe gave us their timing: wedding breakfast from 4pm to 7pm with background music for their entrance and between courses, then the evening set from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the dance room.

At Wennington Hall near Lancaster, another couple asked the band to play a short set during the wedding breakfast "to pick up the energy and lead everyone back to the bar" before starting the evening party with their first dance. Most bands will work with your venue's schedule and can split their sets across the day.
