“Beats & Beyond were absolutely phenomenal and made our wedding day. We booked them across the whole day - the acoustic duo for our ceremony and drinks reception, then the full five-piece band with saxophone and DJ in the evening- and every part was flawless. The duo set the perfect tone earlier on, and come the evening the dancefloor didn't empty once. Our first dance was timed to perfection, with a brilliant sax moment that had all our guests flooding onto the floor. So many people came up to us saying they were the best wedding band they'd ever seen, and a few are already tracking them down for their own events! Joe was also fantastic to deal with throughout the planning - patient with our endless questions, flexible with every request, and completely on top of every detail, which made the whole thing stress-free. We couldn't recommend them more highly. Thank you for giving us the most incredible night!”
“These guys were epic! Everyone absolutely loved the music and have been raving about it since. They read the room perfectly and kept everyone going. They performed our first dance song spectacularly and the medleys were amazing! Loved every minute of their performance and sad we won’t see them play again, unless they play at a friend's wedding in the future 🙏 Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“Not sure where to start but MOJO were absolutely FANTASTIC! The vibe and party atmosphere we wanted to create for our wedding couldn’t have been achieved without them! From our entrance into the wedding breakfast, the performances during the wedding breakfast and the fact that our guests haven’t stopped talking about the band and literally couldn’t wait for them to come back on the night of the wedding is the biggest compliment I can give. Mark was brilliant with his communication throughout and just got Katie and me from the get go. Thank you so much for a brilliant day and evening of performances! Even our other wedding vendors have asked for MOJO's details since the wedding which is a clear compliment of how good they are! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!”
“We booked the Tourists for our wedding yesterday and we were all blown away by how great they were. All our guests kept saying how amazing the band were and the photographers also said 'your band are incredible' before they left. I'm massively into live music so was a bit nervous about blind booking a band without seeing them live but I went with the videos and the reviews and so so glad we did. Honestly, if you're in two minds whether to book them, just do it, you won't regret it. Si is also so responsive and really listens to what you're after to make it special and unique. Great bunch of lads. Couldn't be more grateful. Thanks, James and Sarah”
“Every wedding needs Elevation Gospel Choir; they were absolutely incredible! My husband and I first saw them performing at a wedding fair and we just knew we had to have them perform on our big day. From the very first point of contact, we knew we were in safe hands as all communication was so professional and the choir were even accommodating enough to learn a brand new song which we hold very dear to our hearts. All of our guests commented throughout the day how amazing their vocals were and their performance was a true highlight of the wedding. I can’t thank the choir enough for making our day extra special!”
“The best band! I couldn’t recommend booking Scintillate enough. From booking the band, to the lead up to the wedding, to their performance on the day everything was just perfect! Our guests loved them just as much as we did. Thank you so much for helping us make our day so special!”
“Totally brilliant. Amazing comms during planning and on the day seamless. Perfect for the drinks reception and then kept the dance floor full for the evening. Thanks so much. Can't wait to work with you again.”
“We were looking for a band specifically that had a saxophonist and we're so glad we found The Nauticals! Their sound, lighting and image were all very professional and polished - we had so many compliments from guests saying they were the best wedding band they'd seen. We had high hopes for them having seen their promo videos and they didn't disappoint! They kept everyone on the dance floor right until carriages and the added sax set was a great way to break up the night and give our guests another little surprise. We couldn't recommend them enough.”
“The Beat Chiefs were amazing! Everyone had a fabulous time, and they aced our first and last dances - the latter learnt specially for the event. They were also exceptionally professional and friendly from first contact to last. We couldn't have been happier to have hired them for our wedding!”
“They absolutely smashed it. We were so looking forward to the band playing at our wedding, it was one of the things we were most excited for. They didn’t disappoint, tune after tune the guys got everyone on the dance floor all night. We wanted a great band that had our dance floor filled and we certainly got it. It was a highlight and we would book them over and over again! Thank guys for making our wedding evening a massive party!”
“We cannot thank Laura and the rest of Dancefloor Divas enough for making our special day absolutely unforgettable! They went above and beyond by learning our first dance song, which was so special for us and brought the energy right from the first song, getting everyone on the dancefloor. They broke each set down to ensure there was something to get everyone dancing. They set up everything and ensured microphones were ready for all of the speeches, even with issues and delays far outside of their control. They stayed calm and had everything sorted in record time. I would highly recommend Dancefloor Divas.”
“Can you pass our sincere thanks to the band for an unbelievable performance at our wedding. The owners of the venue said it was the best band they'd had in the past 10 years. So good that we killed off the dance floor. We couldn't have asked for more, the songs were perfect and the encore will never be forgotten! Thanks again.”
Kent's wedding venues fall into a few distinct categories. Here's where our bands are most often asked to perform, based on FixTheMusic enquiries:
Barn and eco-wedding venues
Castle and stately home venues
Hotel and town venues
Waterside venues
Each venue has its own layout and requirements, so check details like access, power, sound limits and finish times before confirming your band.
Kent couples tell us they want something a bit different.
One couple planned "an outdoor tipi style" wedding and loved "all types of music from pop, rock, disco, R&B and even heavy metal." Another at The Harty Estate wanted "a saxophonist alongside our DJ for parts of the evening music" rather than a full live band.
Brass bands and roaming acts suit Kent's barn venue culture. A couple at Chiddingstone requested "a brass band with some vocals as well, and ideally a DJ set add-on for the evening." Brass Bonanza performed at Goodnestone Park, The Roaming Folks at The Oak Barn, and The London Roaming Band at Offham.
Full-day bookings are common at Kent's manor and castle venues. At Broxham Manor, Scintillate provided mics and background music for the ceremony and canapes before the full band set in the marquee.
At Leeds Castle, a couple booked Wandering Three for ceremony, wandering entertainment during photos, and the evening party, then a DJ until 1am. Bands arriving early to set up for ceremony music should coordinate access with the venue, as the rest of the band may need to soundcheck during canapes before guests sit down for dinner.
For couples planning outdoor or tipi weddings, bands need power access and a wet weather plan. Beats & Beyond confirmed this when playing at Solton Manor: "Just confirming that power will be available for the acoustic duo? If you have a wet weather plan as well that would be useful."
Bands ask venues about dietary requirements for band meals. One band checked whether the venue could cater for a celiac drummer with no cross-contamination, noting that "some venues are able to and some are not able to guarantee" this. Discussing band meals with your venue in advance avoids last-minute issues.
Christmas weddings happen at Kent barn venues too. A couple at The Old Kent Barn in December wanted "pop, jazz and Christmassy tunes."
Soul, Motown, reggae and disco are popular genre requests. A couple at Hayne House in Hythe said they liked "soul, Motown, reggae, disco and funk."

Based on the 31 most recent of Kent's confirmed bookings in the past 12 months, wedding bands range from £400 to £8,850, with a median of £2,150. The full breakdown by price tier is shown above.
The median lead time for Kent weddings is around 11 months. August, July and September are the most popular months. Enquire as soon as you book your venue, especially for peak summer dates at popular barn venues like The Oak Barn, which can be booked over a year ahead.
It depends on the venue type. At barn venues like The Oak Barn, a typical evening runs: first dance and ceilidh at 6:45pm, two ceilidh sets with short breaks, a covers set at 8:45pm, then DJ disco until 11pm. At manor venues like Solton Manor, bands typically arrive at 5:15pm, first dance at 8pm, two live sets with a 45-minute manned DJ break, then DJ until close. At castle venues like Leeds Castle, couples have booked live bands for the evening, then a DJ from 11pm to 1am to finish the night. Full-day bookings (ceremony + canapes + evening) are common at manor and castle venues. Bands arrive early to set up for the ceremony, with the rest of the band arriving during canapes to soundcheck before dinner.
Most barn venues in Kent accommodate a full band, but space varies. The Oak Barn and Solton Manor have hosted everything from roaming duos to 9-piece function bands. For smaller barn venues, a 4-piece or acoustic lineup may be more practical. Always check access and power availability with the venue, particularly if the band is performing an acoustic set outdoors.
Yes. Several Kent couples have planned outdoor or tipi-style weddings. Bands need access to power and shelter in case of bad weather. At Solton Manor, a band confirmed they needed to check power availability for an acoustic duo performing outdoors and asked the couple for a wet weather plan. Discuss your wet weather plan with both the venue and the band before booking.
Yes. Brass bands and roaming acts are popular for Kent's barn and outdoor venues. Brass Bonanza, The Roaming Folks and The London Roaming Band have all performed at confirmed Kent weddings. The London Brass Roamers are also available.
Yes. Ceilidh Twist has three confirmed Kent bookings at The Oak Barn, and The Kent Ceilidh Band is based in Bromley. Browse our ceilidh bands in Kent page for more options.
Some do. Always check with your venue. If a venue has a sound limiter, bands will adjust their volume and may use an electric drum kit. Let the band know about any restrictions when you receive their quote.
Yes. One couple booked The Old Kent Barn for a December wedding wanting "pop, jazz and Christmassy tunes." Several Kent barn venues host Christmas weddings, and bands can incorporate festive songs into their set.
Yes, it's standard practice to provide each band member with a hot meal and refreshments. Discuss dietary requirements with the band in advance and confirm with your venue whether they can cater for specific needs. One Kent band checked whether the venue could accommodate a celiac drummer with no cross-contamination, noting that some venues can guarantee this and others cannot.
