FAQ about hiring a wedding band on the Amalfi Coast

How much does a wedding band cost on the Amalfi Coast?

Confirmed bookings on FixTheMusic for weddings on the Amalfi Coast range from around €500 for a solo singer or folk duo to over €3,000 for a full party band, with the average landing around €2,500. Local Italian-based bands typically cost less than UK-based bands travelling to Italy, who need to factor in flights and accommodation. The Amalfi Wedding Singer averages €1,543 per booking, The Naples Swing Band averages €2,839, and The Turnpikes average €2,667. Submit an enquiry to receive quotes tailored to your date and venue.

How far in advance should I book a wedding band for the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast has a concentrated wedding season from May to October, with June and September the busiest months based on our enquiry data. Most couples enquire 6 to 12 months before their wedding, but the most popular local bands get booked 14 months or more in advance for peak Saturday dates. If your wedding is in peak season, enquire as early as possible. Weekday and October dates tend to have more availability.

Can wedding bands perform at outdoor venues on the Amalfi Coast?

Yes, though weather and venue access need careful consideration. Most Amalfi Coast venues have terraces, gardens or clifftop spaces that work beautifully for live music during the aperitivo or early evening. Bands will always need shelter from wind and strong sun, and a clear indoor backup option for the later part of the night. Most experienced local bands are used to working with these conditions.

Do some Amalfi Coast venues have restricted vehicle access for bands?

Yes, and this is one of the most practical logistics to plan for. Villa Eva in Ravello is a good example: the venue is not accessible by car and can only be reached on foot via cobbled streets and steep steps. One band booked through FixTheMusic was told by the venue manager that ’it is not possible to access the venue by car to unload equipment, as the area is restricted to authorized vehicles only’ and had to rely on authorized staff with a shuttle service to transport their gear. Several other clifftop and hillside venues across Ravello and Positano have similar restrictions. The narrow coastal road between Positano, Amalfi and Ravello is also heavily trafficked in summer, which affects arrival times. Always discuss venue access in detail when enquiring with a band, and check whether they have experience with your specific venue.

Do Amalfi Coast wedding bands perform in Italian and English?

Most of the bands on this list are comfortable performing in both Italian and English, which is important for mixed nationality weddings. Several have extensive experience with UK and US couples and understand how to blend Italian classics with international pop and rock to keep all guests engaged across the evening.

Is it worth hiring a roaming band for the aperitivo on the Amalfi Coast?

Yes, and it is one of the most popular formats for Amalfi Coast weddings. A roaming folk or acoustic band weaving between guests during the drinks reception works beautifully in clifftop gardens and terraced venues where a stage would be impractical. After the roaming band, many couples then bring in a full band or DJ for the evening reception. Several bands on this list offer both formats.

Do I need an SIAE licence for a wedding band on the Amalfi Coast?

Yes. All live music performances in Italy require an SIAE licence covering the rights to perform copyrighted music. This cost is not usually included in a band’s quote as the fee varies depending on the event. You can read more in our guide to the SIAE licence fee for weddings in Italy.
