“Disciples of Soul were fantastic at our wedding! They were professional and accomodating throughout lockdown as unfortunately we had to postpone due to the pandemic. We were sceptical about what the standard of a band could be at a wedding but Disciples of Soul did not disappoint. The dance floor was bouncing and everybody jumped to the dancefloor straight away. We had a Halloween themed reception so we requested that they do their own version of Put a Spell on you from the film Hocus Pocus. They took it further and found the exact score from the film and threw in Thriller as well. We had a few bits of fancy dress around and they were more than happy to get involved and even started painting their faces. It seemed like anything you asked them to do they would try their best to accommodate you. The quality of the band was perfect. We had two singers and I wouldn't be able to pick who was the best singer- they were both brilliant. You have made a mistake if you don't pick this band.”

In the 1960s, Motown and its subsidiary labels (including Tamla Motown, the brand used outside the US) were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as the Motown Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence.
