Cinque Terre is one of Italy's most sought-after wedding destinations.
The five clifftop villages strung along the Ligurian coast - Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore - offer a backdrop that's hard to match anywhere in Europe.
Terraced vineyards, pastel houses tumbling down to the sea, and intimate venues carved into the hillside make it a favourite for couples wanting something genuinely spectacular.
Most couples getting married here want a band that can flex across the full day: relaxed and atmospheric during the aperitivo and dinner, then high-energy enough to get people dancing later. Many of the bands on this list have exactly that flexibility built in.

Popular wedding venues in Cinque Terre include Villa La Meridiana in Alassio, and various private villas and terraces across the five villages. Many couples also marry at small churches or outdoor terraces in Vernazza and Monterosso. Given the narrow streets and clifftop terrain, logistics for bands require careful planning -- experienced local acts are well versed in this.
Cinque Terre's famous terrain -- steep paths, restricted vehicle access and no large roads into the villages -- makes logistics more complex than most Italian destinations. Bands experienced with the area will account for this. It is worth discussing equipment transport and access with any band before booking.
Yes. All live music performances in Italy require an SIAE licence covering the rights to perform copyrighted music. This cost is not usually included in a band's quote as the fee varies depending on the event. You can read more in our guide to the SIAE licence fee for weddings in Italy.
Both are popular options. Local Italian bands based in Liguria or Tuscany tend to be more cost-effective and have fewer logistics to manage. UK bands can travel but flights, accommodation and equipment hire add significantly to the cost. FixTheMusic has both local Italian acts and UK bands experienced with destination weddings in the region.
Yes. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cinque Terre has strict noise ordinances that limit amplified music in the villages. Fully amplified bands may not be permitted at all venues, particularly those within the historic village centres. Acoustic music and smaller acoustic setups are generally more straightforward to arrange. Always check with your venue before booking and let the band know in advance so they can plan accordingly.
Most Cinque Terre venues suit smaller, more intimate lineups. A duo, trio or acoustic act tends to work better than a large full band, both in terms of sound levels and practical logistics. Cinque Terre weddings are typically smaller in scale too -- the terrain, limited accommodation and village infrastructure mean most couples invite between 20 and 60 guests.
May, June, September and October are the most popular months. The weather is warm but not overwhelmingly hot, crowds are more manageable than in peak summer, and evening temperatures are comfortable for outdoor receptions. July and August can be extremely busy with tourists, which adds to logistical complexity for bands travelling to the area.
In principle yes, but it requires careful planning. The villages are connected by train (5 to 10 minutes between stops) and by boat, but private vehicles cannot enter the historic centres. Equipment transport is the main consideration -- bands travelling to Cinque Terre need to plan how to move instruments and PA equipment along narrow paths and steep terrain. Experienced local acts will know the practical realities of this well in advance.
