Hiring a Wedding Band in Verona – A Short Guide (2026)

Verona has been a city of romance for centuries, and not just because of Romeo and Juliet.

The Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheatre built in 30 AD, still hosts summer opera performances under the stars, and the medieval old town winds between the Adige River and the Valpolicella hills. Many couples choose to marry at a villa in the Valpolicella wine country or on the shores of Lake Garda, just half an hour north, where venues like Villa San Vigilio and Isola del Garda are among the most sought-after wedding spots in northern Italy.

When it comes to live music, most couples marrying in the Verona area want a band that plays covers of pop, rock, indie, funk and soul, though there's also strong demand for roaming bands and acoustic duos for the drinks reception, and jazz or classical ensembles for the ceremony.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about hiring a wedding band in Verona

FixTheMusic provides bands for thousands of weddings and private events each year across Europe and worldwide. We've put together some Frequently asked questions (FAQs) about hiring a wedding band, a few of which are listed below:

How much does a wedding band cost in Verona?

Based on our confirmed booking data for the Verona area, acoustic duos and solo acts typically cost €1,000–€2,500, full party bands range from €2,000–€5,000, and premium showbands can reach €7,000 or more for large weddings. Prices depend on the band size, time of year, and travel distance from their base.

When is the best time of year for a wedding in Verona?

The wedding season in Verona and Lake Garda runs from May to September, with June (76 enquiries in our data), September (75) and August (71) the busiest months. Many couples prefer June or September to avoid the peak heat of July and August, while still enjoying warm evenings for outdoor receptions.

Are there wedding bands based in Verona itself?

Yes. Several bands on FixTheMusic are based in Verona, including Dolce Beats, Dusk Roamers, Jazz Extract, Verona Jazz and Groove Shakers. There are also performers based in nearby Vicenza, Brescia and on Lake Garda, all within easy travelling distance of Verona’s wedding venues.

Can bands perform at Lake Garda wedding venues?

Yes. Many of our bands regularly perform at Lake Garda venues such as Villa San Vigilio, Isola del Garda, Villa Fiordaliso in Gardone Riviera, Torre San Marco and the Du Lac et Du Parc in Riva del Garda. If your venue is on the lake, mention this when enquiring so the band can plan their travel and equipment access accordingly.

How far in advance should I book a wedding band in Verona?

Based on our confirmed bookings for the Verona area, couples typically confirm their band around six months before the wedding date. For popular Saturday dates in peak season (June through September), we’d suggest enquiring 8–12 months ahead, as the best bands get snapped up early. That said, we do see last-minute bookings — one couple confirmed a band just 17 days before their Villa Rizzardi wedding.

How long do wedding bands play for?

Most bands on FixTheMusic perform 2 x 45 minute or 2 x 1 hour live sets. Some bands will play for longer, and they’ll always tell you their set length when they provide a quote.

What happens between and after the live sets?

Most bands provide a laptop DJ service — a playlist (usually on Spotify or iTunes) played through their PA system. This isn’t the same as a professional DJ who reads the room and adapts to the night. Some bands only provide the live music and prefer to leave the rest of the evening to the couple or a professional DJ.

Will the band learn our first dance song?

Yes. Most bands will be delighted to learn your first dance and perform it live. If it doesn’t suit their style (e.g. a jazz first dance with an indie-rock band), they’ll usually suggest playing the recorded version through their PA instead.

What time will the band arrive and finish?

Most bands aim to arrive around 5pm to set up and soundcheck for a 7pm start, and expect to finish by midnight. Earlier arrivals and later finishes are usually possible for an additional fee — just arrange this with the band in advance.

Do the bands bring their own equipment?

Yes. Professional wedding bands bring their own PA system, mixing desk, basic lighting and instruments. For particularly large weddings you might consider hiring in a larger PA system. Not all bands in Europe bring their own lighting, so it’s worth checking this before booking.

Do we need to provide anything for the band?

Most bands expect a hot meal and soft drinks each. The musicians will often have left home around lunchtime to arrive in good time to set up, so it’s a long day — a good meal and refreshments before they perform makes a real difference. Most venues have a supplier meal option, or you can give the musicians access to your buffet.

Can wedding bands play outside in Italy?

Many bands are happy to play outside in principle, but they will always need access to a shelter from the elements — strong sunlight as well as rain. Musicians’ instruments can be worth thousands of pounds and even a small amount of water damage or prolonged sun exposure can cause serious harm.
