There isn’t a fixed price for hiring a band in Glasgow, as costs depend on a few key factors. The size of the band, how long you want them to perform and how far they need to travel all play a role.
For example, a smaller lineup with a shorter set will usually be at the lower end, while larger bands or extended performances will increase the overall price. Popular bands with busy calendars may also charge more, particularly for peak summer dates.
Most quotes include sound equipment, lighting and a set performance time, so you can compare options on a like-for-like basis.

Yes. One of the strengths of the Glasgow scene is its variety. Bands often combine different genres within a single set, moving between well known pop and rock songs, soul classics and more recent tracks. This helps keep the dance floor active across a mixed group of guests rather than focusing on a single style.
Many bands are based in Glasgow or nearby, but it is also common for bands to travel across Central Scotland. This includes venues in areas such as Loch Lomond, Ayrshire and Stirling. Travel is usually planned as part of the booking so there are no surprises on the day.
City venues can vary quite a lot in layout. Some have dedicated performance spaces, while others require a more compact setup. It is worth checking access times, load-in routes and any sound restrictions, then passing that information to the band so they can plan accordingly.
Some bands offer ceilidh sets or can include traditional Scottish elements alongside more modern material. This is something you can discuss in advance if you want to include it as part of the evening.
Bands usually structure the night in stages, starting with more relaxed songs and gradually increasing the tempo as more guests join the dance floor. This approach helps avoid an early drop in energy and keeps the evening building naturally.
Rather than leaving gaps, bands normally play background music through their system between sets. This keeps the atmosphere consistent and avoids sudden changes in volume or style.
Yes, but most bands will balance your requests with their experience of what works live. A small number of specific requests is usually fine, but the band will shape the overall set based on how the crowd responds.
Bands can often adjust their performance times slightly to fit your schedule, especially if there are delays earlier in the day. It is still best to agree a rough timeline in advance so everyone knows what to expect.
In most cases, yes. This includes instruments, sound equipment and basic lighting. If your venue has specific requirements, the band may adjust their setup accordingly.
Experienced bands are used to weddings running slightly behind schedule. They can adapt their set times and approach to fit the situation without disrupting the overall flow of the evening.
Some bands offer the option to extend their performance for an additional fee. This depends on the venue and the band’s availability, so it is best to discuss this in advance.
Finish times depend on the venue, but many follow a midnight cut-off for live music. Some venues may allow later finishes, while others require an earlier end time.
Wow, where do I start? Luna Showband and Night Magic took our breath away...
Wow, where do I start? Luna Showband and Night Magic took our breath away. The most compliments I ever had on the wedding were the band and the singers. People just stared, as they couldn’t believe it. My mother-in-law who is from Canada said, we just don’t get talent like this in Canada! She was so happy. It was just phenomenal. The kids from Arizona who are spoilt and have seen every kind of wedding said it was the best music they have ever seen. It was truly out of this world!! I can’t believe you mastered the bee gees voice and did Night Fever, it was amazing!! When you called us to the stage to stand up there with you, we felt like legends and part of the band!! I will never forget it!! So epic!! Every time I remember those times on the dance floor, we beam with happiness!
The dust has settled a bit and we wanted to reach out again to thank you for playing at our wedding...
Hi Sam and band, The dust has settled a bit and we wanted to reach out again to thank you for playing at our wedding. We can't thank you enough for being so accommodating with the music, and being there all day to entertain the guests. From everyone we've spoken to, they have all said how good the music was throughout the day! If there are any final things you need from us please do let us know, otherwise we hope to see you guys again at another event! Good luck and thank you again! Kris and Lorna.
You really took it to the next level and it was better than we could have ever dreamt!
Hi James, We wanted to write to thank you SO much for making our wedding so amazing!! You really took it to the next level and it was better than we could have ever dreamt! I’m sorry we didn’t get much time to actually chat on the night. But I am quite sure you will be requested back in Malta soon, we have had SO many people asking for your details and saying how great you all were :) Hope you enjoyed your little stay in Malta too! Thank you again, Lisa & Jonas.
Professional musicians who made the whole room come alive...
We booked Groove Addiction to perform at our wedding party in December, and they were nothing short of exceptional. We loved every minute of their sets. Professional musicians who made the whole room come alive - a huge thank you for making the night extra special!
Glasgow offers a mix of wedding venues, from city locations to larger estates just outside the centre. Bands regularly perform at venues such as Òran Mór, House for an Art Lover and Pollok House, as well as hotels and venues across the surrounding area.
Each venue has its own layout and requirements, so it is useful to check details like access, sound limits and finish times before confirming your band.

"David and the guys were superb, from our first dance to their last number they had nearly every one of our guests on the dance floor. The range and depth of their live sets was excellent and just encouraged you to dance and party to their music. If you are looking for a band that can play current, contemporary and the all-time classics then these guys nail it every time."
"It’s hard to put into words how happy we were to find The Scottish Soul Collective. We booked both the jazz duo and the full 9-piece band, and we couldn’t have been happier. From the first enquiry right through to the last song, Tom and the band were professional, timely, and cared so much about our day."
“Ceilidh Storm were sensational. An authentic Ceilidh experience with caller and demonstration. also modern & youthful sound with the Hits and some personal requests. They really got the balance. Guests age range of 2-92 and everyone enjoyed it. Bit pricey but they worked hard for it and were easy to organise and communicate with. I would choose them again in a heartbeat."
"They were great! they really are wonderful musicians, they were helpful and enthusiastic and very easy to work with. They somehow managed to get 200 Yorkshire folk engaged in Scottish dancing most of them for the first time. Thank you very much for all of your help and professionalism in pulling it all together. I look forward to working with you again in the future."
