Plan your perfect wedding with our selection of Shropshire wedding bands

The Best Wedding Bands Shropshire Has to Offer

Over 250 couples have submitted wedding band enquiries through FixTheMusic for venues across Shropshire, from the medieval grounds of Rowton Castle to the restored gardens of Hawkstone Hall. It is one of England's most rural counties, and that shapes what kind of band works best. Country houses and barn venues benefit from bands that can fill a room without overwhelming it, while castle and estate weddings call for something with more projection.

We cover all of it. Below are some of the best wedding bands for Shropshire on FixTheMusic, selected for their experience performing at venues across the county. Prices range from £750 for compact covers bands through to £2,500 for full function bands with brass and multiple vocalists.

Featured Wedding Bands in Shropshire

These ten bands have proven track records performing at Shropshire weddings. Selected based on confirmed FixTheMusic bookings, verified reviews and experience working the rural estate and country house venues the county is known for.

The Score

Booking price: £750 - £1,000 ★ 29 verified reviews | Booked 129 times ⚡

The Score are one of the most-booked covers bands in the region. Their repertoire pulls from every decade since the 1960s, so whether your guests lean towards Motown classics or modern pop, there is something on the set list for everyone. They also provide a built-in DJ service between and after their live sets, which removes the need to hire a separate DJ.

For Shropshire venues with tight load-in windows, barn conversions with restricted access in particular, The Score operate efficiently. Their PA and lighting are included in the rate and they handle setup and breakdown themselves. Two hours of live performance is standard, split into sets that can be timed around speeches, the cake cut and the first dance.

Shropshire bookings include confirmed weddings at venues across the county, namely Rowton Castle, Hawkstone Hall, Berwick House and Davenport House, Bridgnorth.

The Dynamos

★ 20 verified reviews | Booked 91 times ⚡

The Dynamos perform at over 70 weddings and events every year. That volume of work shows in how they handle set lists. They will learn specific song requests, including first dance tracks that might not be in their standard repertoire. If you want something particular for your ceremony or evening set, they are one of the more accommodating bands on the circuit.

Their sound works well in large rooms. Country houses and converted barns in Shropshire often have high ceilings and hard surfaces where smaller bands can sound thin. The Dynamos carry enough projection to fill those spaces without needing supplementary sound from the venue.

With 91 confirmed FixTheMusic bookings and 20 verified reviews, they have the track record couples look for when committing to a band months before the wedding.

Groove Doctors

★ 10 verified reviews | Booked 42 times ⚡

Groove Doctors position themselves as luxury wedding entertainment, and the details bear that out. Their standard package includes two hours of live music split across sets, background music from early evening as guests arrive and a DJ playlist during breaks and pack-down. Everything a couple typically needs from their evening entertainment is covered in one booking.

The set list spans soul, funk, pop and rock across the last five decades. They lean into grooves that keep a dance floor moving rather than standing tracks. For Shropshire barn venues and country house receptions, where the transition from dinner to dancing can be abrupt, their approach of building energy gradually across the evening works well.

Their ten verified reviews highlight reliability and crowd response as consistent strengths.

The Evergreens

★ 3 verified reviews | Booked 44 times ⚡

The Evergreens have performed at weddings across the UK and Europe, and members of the band have toured with established recording artists. That touring background translates into a polished live show. Their dual-fronted setup with both male and female vocals handles a wide repertoire, from sixties classics through to contemporary pop.

Shropshire has a strong tradition of multi-generational wedding guest lists. Grandparents, parents and friends' children all on the same dance floor. The Evergreens' set list is built for exactly that dynamic, pulling material that works across age groups rather than skewing heavily towards one era.

At an average price of £1,140, they sit at the accessible end of the Shropshire booking range while offering the kind of stage presence you would expect from a more expensive band.

The Anthem Band

★ 7 verified reviews | Booked 39 times ⚡

The Anthem Band build their shows around energy without the covers-band clichés. Their approach is rock and pop covers played with genuine enthusiasm rather than a paint-by-numbers set list. Over ten years in the live music industry means they understand pacing. When to push the tempo, when to dial back and how to read a room that might include guests who are not natural dancers.

They use professional equipment throughout and their renditions stay faithful to the originals while still feeling live. For Shropshire venues where the band plays in a separate space from drinks or dinner, having a band that can build momentum when guests move through to the reception room is a real advantage.

Their seven verified reviews reflect consistent performance quality across different venue types.

The Cassettes 90s Band

★ 7 verified reviews | Booked 31 times ⚡

If your guest list skews towards thirty- and forty-somethings, The Cassettes deliver the decade that shaped them. Their show combines synth riffs, live drums, bass grooves and guitar work that recreates the nineties with real conviction rather than just running through the hits. Both male and female lead vocals handle the era's range, from Britpop through to R&B and dance.

The band can perform up to three hours, which is useful for evening receptions that run late. At Shropshire venues where the wedding breakfast stretches into the afternoon and the band needs to hold the room through to midnight, that extra hour of material is a practical option.

Seven verified reviews and 31 bookings make them one of the more established nineties tribute options available for Shropshire weddings.

Funkadelic Collective

Booking price: £1,500 - £2,500 ★ 7 verified reviews | Booked 22 times ⚡

Funkadelic Collective are not a standard function band. The musicians in their ensemble have worked across genres and performance contexts, and it shows in how they approach a set. The songs are played faithfully when they need to be, but there is always something extra in the arrangements that lifts the performance beyond what a typical covers band delivers.

Their setup scales depending on the venue. For intimate Shropshire country houses, a smaller configuration keeps the energy without overwhelming the space. For larger estate venues and barn conversions, the full ensemble fills the room properly. Funk, disco, soul and pop all feature in their repertoire.

They are one of the more distinctive choices on this list, and their seven verified reviews reflect couples who value something different from the standard covers-band format.

That Funky Brass Band

Booking price: £1,000 - £2,500 ★ 6 verified reviews | Booked 22 times ⚡

That Funky Brass Band bring a horn section to the dance floor. Featured on ITV's This Morning and with performances at festivals including Boomtown, Cheltenham Jazz and the Derry Jazz Festival, they have the kind of live credentials that translate into confident, high-energy wedding sets.

Brass bands work particularly well at outdoor Shropshire venues where the sound carries differently from a closed-room electric setup. Garden receptions, marquee weddings and open-air ceremonies all benefit from the projection that a horn section provides without needing heavy amplification. They can roam as well, which is a genuine advantage for drinks receptions and ceremony-to-cocktails transitions.

Their repertoire covers funk, soul, pop and jazz standards, and they are comfortable adapting the volume and format to suit the venue.

The Lifestyles

Booking price: £1,000 - £2,500 ★ 5 verified reviews | Booked 20 times ⚡

The Lifestyles are one of the few wedding bands actually based in Shropshire. They offer acoustic intimacy and full live performance across a range of packages. Ceremony sets, drinks reception music, evening band sets and professional DJ packages. For couples who want one booking to cover the entire day's music without coordinating multiple acts, they are a practical choice.

Their local base means no travel surcharges and straightforward logistics for venue visits and soundchecks. Shropshire venues often have specific load-in requirements or noise considerations, and having a band that already knows the county and its venues is a genuine advantage over a group driving in from several hours away.

Their five verified reviews highlight customer service as a consistent strength, with responsive communication from first enquiry through to the wedding day itself.

Gentle Grooves

Booking price: £900 - £1,800 ★ 6 verified reviews | Booked 18 times ⚡

Gentle Grooves tailor their sound to each event rather than running through a fixed setlist. Their repertoire spans Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac and Bill Withers alongside modern tracks from Dua Lipa and Harry Styles. The trio format keeps things warm without filling every frequency in the room, which suits the kind of relaxed, elegant atmosphere many Shropshire country house venues call for.

They can scale their energy across the evening, moving from ambient background sets during dinner into full party mode once the speeches are done. For venues where the same room hosts both the wedding breakfast and the reception, this flexibility means the music evolves with the event rather than feeling bolted on.

Their price range starts at £900, making them one of the more accessible options for Shropshire couples who want quality live music without a premium budget.

About Our Wedding Bands for Hire in Shropshire

Shropshire's wedding venues are diverse. Couples book bands for everything from intimate ceremonies in village churches near Ludlow to evening receptions at large country houses outside Shrewsbury. Based on the enquiries we receive, the most popular months for Shropshire weddings are July and August, with September a close third. If your date falls in that window, booking early matters. The average lead time from first enquiry to wedding day is just under eight months.

Most couples set a live music budget of around £1,900. That covers a solid four-piece or five-piece function band with their own PA and lighting. String quartets and acoustic duos tend to sit lower, while showbands with brass sections push past £2,500. Whatever you are working with, FixTheMusic bands list their rates upfront, so there is no guessing game.

When should we book a wedding band for our Shropshire wedding?

Wedding music bands are popular, and many have bookings months in advance. We typically recommend securing the band as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Local wedding bands may be more flexible, but if you hire a band that performs across the UK, you may need to book up to a year in advance.

However, if you're planning a last-minute wedding, please contact us, and we'll try to find suitable entertainment as soon as possible.

How long do Shropshire wedding bands typically perform?

Most function bands perform for two hours, but they're usually flexible in how you use that time. For example, some people ask the band to play music at the drinks reception, then perform a 90-minute set during the evening party.

Can a Shropshire band perform our chosen first dance song?

Yes, of course! You have every right to request your chosen song for the first dance. After all, it's one of the most important moments of your wedding day.

It's a good idea to let the band know beforehand, as they may need to learn and rehearse the song. Depending on the type of band you choose, they may put a unique twist on the song.

For example, an acoustic duo can turn a power ballad into a romantic song, while a jazz, pop, or rock band will adapt the music to their style.

Do wedding bands in Shropshire supply their own sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, they will. The band's rate includes lighting and sound equipment. However, some wedding venues have noise restrictions or a unique setup, which means the band may need to bring a different PA system and sound limiters.

Please ask the venue about any restrictions and warn the musicians in advance.

Is it possible to see a Shropshire wedding band live before booking?

Many Shropshire wedding musicians perform at a range of functions and live events, so you can find videos of their performances. You can also check each band's profile, although you won't be able to go and watch them live at a wedding.

Will there be music playing during the band’s breaks at our Shropshire wedding?

Yes, you can request that the band offer a laptop DJ service to keep your guests dancing while they take a break. However, hiring a professional DJ is an excellent idea if you want to party for hours. The band will complete their set, then the DJ will take over, playing your chosen songs.

DJ music can keep your guests on the dance floor all night, but it depends on your preferences and whether you want a more laid-back celebration.

What is the average cost to hire a wedding band in Shropshire?

Confirmed bookings in Shropshire range from £750 to £2,500, with most couples paying between £900 and £1,562.

It depends on the band's popularity and logistics. If you hire a band that performs throughout the West Midlands or the UK, the costs might be higher, as the band needs to factor in travel costs.

FixTheMusic lets you find and compare wedding bands for free, which makes it easier to choose the right entertainment for your wedding. All our bands list their rates, but if you're on a strict budget, our experts can help you find suitable musicians.

Do Shropshire wedding bands charge extra for travel and setup?

As mentioned, most bands include travel charges and setup costs in their advertised rates. However, their rates may be higher if the band needs to travel further.

What happens if our booked wedding band in Shropshire cancels?

This is incredibly rare, but sometimes unforeseen events can lead to the band cancelling. For example, if the weather is too bad to travel or a key member becomes unwell, the band may need to cancel.

We're committed to ensuring your wedding night goes smoothly and will do everything possible to find suitable entertainment at short notice. Planning ahead by hiring a DJ can also give you peace of mind.

Will Shropshire wedding musicians take song requests?

It depends on the band. You can request your favourite songs in advance, and they'll play them, but some will also take requests on the night. However, live music works differently from DJs, so if you have songs you'd like the band to play, it's best to ask them in advance, as they may need to learn them.

Reviews from local events in Shropshire

Hi guys, We just wanted to say thank you again for playing at our wedding on Saturday! We absolutely loved it as did all our guests...they have all commented on how amazing the band was! You really got the party started, I don't think anybody left the dance floor once they were up. So once again, a HUGE thanks for really making it a night to remember for everyone.

It's taken a few days to get around to writing this, mostly because I'm still worn out from having The Score at our wedding last week! Friendly, organised and easy to work with, they put together the perfect gig and DJ set for our evening - massive/diverse repertoire, super accommodating for requests and special guests on stage, great sound and massive energy!

The band were AMAZING! They played great set lists and took on board our song requests throughout the night - they were great fun, even getting involved with our props! Sounded really good throughout the night and kept the dancefloor full! We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great wedding band :) Thank you again, The Wilcox’s xx

Danny and the guys were absolutely fantastic. They raised the roof from minute one of our wedding and their energy levels were absolutely off the charts. Almost everyone who was there picked out the band as one of the absolute highlights. Danny is a brilliant frontman and built a rapport with so many people. He got people dancing, smiling and singing and we couldn’t have asked for any more. If anyone is hesitating on booking these guys, just do it. They were worth every penny and if we were having our wedding again tomorrow, we’d book them again without a second thought.
