How Destination Wedding Bands Work in Ireland

Flights and travel. ROAMEO, a roaming party band, organised flights from Barcelona and London to Dublin for their confirmed booking. The sax player required additional luggage for his instrument. Pendulum, an 80s band, flew from Brighton and hired equipment locally — the bride noted they "handled everything with such professionalism and ease, taking a huge weight off our shoulders."
Equipment. Bands flying to Ireland typically hire PA systems, lighting and backline locally rather than transporting their own. One couple in Kinsale offered to "supply all the equipment / PA / Backline" themselves, which can reduce the band's quote.
Accommodation. Bands usually need one night's accommodation for a wedding booking. Couples planning destination weddings at castle hotels often have room blocks that can accommodate the band.
Booking timeline. Ireland destination weddings book early — couples in our enquiries plan around eight months out, and those travelling from the US or Australia tend to book even further ahead. How far in advance should we book a band for an Ireland wedding?
Couples in our Ireland enquiries book around eight months ahead on average. Destination weddings involving international guests tend to book even further ahead. For a Saturday in July or August (the busiest months), we'd recommend enquiring at least 10 months in advance.
Can a band perform both traditional Irish music and modern covers?
Yes. Several couples have requested both. One couple at Moyvannan Castle in Roscommon asked for "musicians that can play popular cover songs as well as traditional Irish music" for their 30-guest ceremony with guests flying in from the United States. Many of our ceilidh bands offer a covers set alongside the traditional format.
